this isn't even the flagship chip Samsung will be making on 5nm so I'm not sure what everyone is talking about?

it also says this chip only supports up to dual cameras, which obviously isn't flagship grade?

Bodygard, 12 Nov 2020Let's see how this goes. Hope this has similar performance to Snap875 and similar efficie... moreSadly that will never happen - we already know that SD875 will be much faster and more efficient than the next top-tier exynos chip.

You can be 100% sure that next year will be the exact same predicament as with the garbage exynos 990 chipset. No difference. Battery life will still be 1-2 hours less than the dragon chip, performance, image quality etc. will still be far inferior to dragon and also the exynos version will throttle like crazy again.

Oh yeah and in Europe we will continue to pay much more for an inferior garbage chip.

Let's see how this goes. Hope this has similar performance to Snap875 and similar efficiency so they don't make us in Europe pay more than US for an inferior device all around.

I'm looking forward to see how Samsung phone will do 5 nm chip and I'm using Samsung but i can't find anything like slow speed or poor camera. Samsung is also a good phone. One who says rubbish for Samsung going to be crappy Chinese phone lover. I hate Chinese crappy phones. Worst developing and can't deliver the software updates on time. Very poor Chinese crappy phones.

I like how everyone is decided that's this is either the best thing since sliced bread, or will bring forth the apocalypse. People, it just got announced like 5 minutes ago!

How about we wait and see what how capable its, I for one am optimistic that Samsung have ditched the propriety 'Mongoose' core designs, they were problematic to say the least.

Exynos is for unbelievable bad battery life if that's what they mean in their advertisement for their new 5nm chipset.

Does it also overheat and offer poor battery life compared to equivalent snapdragon chip?

ponk87, 12 Nov 2020We don't know if the 1080 will be the same. Also at a point Snapdragon chips were trash as wellDoesn't really matter what happened in the past - this is now and the reality is that Snapdragon far surpasses any exynos chip ever made..

We already know that SD875 will beat the next top-tier exynos chip - just imagine what the SD875+ will do. It will be the exact same situation as with the SD865/865+ vs. the garbage E990 chip.. All over again.. I really hope 2021 will be the year where international buyers just says no to exynos trash.

So, this is a midrange soc?

An alternative to dimensity soc with integrated 5G modem ... but one thing for sure, mediatek still have advantage on price bracket..

Goodluck samsung, as long as it can match or better than sd 730g.. then it good enough.
