Mayank Bhatt, 17 Nov 2020Stronger than Dimensity 1000+! This new chipset will be a great deal for sure!Apple has currently the fastest chip, yet it feels laggy compared to phones with a faster display.

O S, 16 Nov 2020A few months ago you would have said charging a phone battery at 120W is ridiculous but, look ... moreAnd is there any phone that uses it? Or any phone sized device for that matter? With cores as powerful as 3ghz cortex x1?

MagicMonkeyBoy, 15 Nov 2020I honestly don't know why people think the A14 is good... It's not. After 5-10 mins ... moreThey want people to spend 1000$ and above for the throttling champ of the year.
We all know who'll be buying them blindly.
Me personally would never bother putting my money into Apple products every again.

petunia, 15 Nov 2020Awesome! MediaTek will revolutionize mid-range. They are closing the gap to flagship chips whi... moreyeah, I agree with u for most part, except one:
MediaTek has been a 'revolutionary' since 2012!
- MT6577 is the 'first' fast (but cheap) dual core Cortex A9 SoC that is head-and-shoulders with Scorpion SoC; no other SoC would give the same 'muscle power' as that SoC in the price range they offer (one of the reason why Chinese smartphones become the most 'value for money').

-MT6752 is the 'only' 64-bit SoC worth to buy in 2014-2015 because ALL 1st-gen 64-bit Snapdragon SoC at that time were riddled with overheat (SD615,SD810) & sluggish (SD410); not only cheap, but it was also capable (both CPU & GPU).

-Helio X20 were Mediatek's 'second attempt' to enter 'premium' high-end SoC, while only cost as much as SD6xx. It was the original tri-clusters CPU designs which was 'mocked' by QC (and later, they shamelessly use it in their SD7xx & SD8xx).

-Helio P60 were one of the 'latest' MediaTek revolution in SoC which target QC's mid-range SoC, SD660 which were expensive when first released (it was so expensive that Xiaomi even have to use it for mi note 3 instead of redmi note 4 or mi max 2, which end up using SD625). Without this SoC, QC will not released SD636 as 'stop-gap'.

-Helio G70-G90 were the 'latest' 'available worldwide' SoC from MediaTek which target QC's 'premium' mid-range SD7xx (QC further crippled SD6xx since 67x, it only have better CPU while the GPU were really weak (even Adreno 510 in SD650 were better!)

The only thing that let us down is how MediaTek 'forbid' Dimensity SoCs to be sold worldwide; I think it might related to how US bans Huawei to make another SoC because its 5G were 'apparently' a 'considerable' threat to their homeland; were MediaTek to release Dimensity worldwide, I bet US will target them next.

Aerogel and graphene materials can be used to channel away and shield the SoC from heat generated. Of course, that is not the only silent and efficient cooling solution available to engineers ready to think out of the box.

Awesome! MediaTek will revolutionize mid-range. They are closing the gap to flagship chips while bringing them to unbeatable prices! I really want to see Redmis and Realme but also other manufacturers use those chips to lower their prices while better performance.

MagicMonkeyBoy, 15 Nov 2020I honestly don't know why people think the A14 is good... It's not. After 5-10 mins ... moreNot sure why this year's Apple A Bionic chipset is throttling quite badly either. I guess this is the reason why they've decided for less performance gain this year, as the amount of power draw is significantly higher.
The only thing that's keeping them performing so great at various tasks is their control over the softwares that run on the SoC. Androids have definitely taken the lead this year though.
I prefer a much more consistent and more power efficient SoC than an ever-so-slightly faster SoC that's just good for a few minutes before falling down to 2018 flagship SoC level.

After 5-10 mins of gaming. The SoC throttles down to 80%. Actually putting the sustained performance less than all past 4 generations of Qualcomm's SoC's...

Gaming with an A14 is still a joke. I would rather an 865+ in a gaming device any day over Apple silicon.

Anonymous, 14 Nov 2020U cannot place all gpu cores as it will produce heat and takeup space so for efficiency purpos... moreOfc you can put all 24 cores together, like in the mate 40 pro, with 5nm and low clockpeed. Huawei even claims 50% efficiency lead over adreno 650.
