If Huawei can buy 5nm Snapdragon SoC without the X50 (5G Modem) then they can just have have their own 5G modem fabbed with an older process node like SMIC 14nm. The 5G modem does not need to be manufactured with most advanced node.

Kkkkkkkk qualcomm can only provide 4G chip? So, better Huawei do business with Mediatek, because MTK already has 5G chips with 7nn and will soon have 5nn to be able to help Huawei in its stock and flow in smartphone production

What happened to the posting rules? Let's refresh a little.

"No politics or religious discussions. Please stick to tech topics here, we will not tolerate posts advocating any political or religious views or causes".

Anyways, I am super happy for this news. Samsung and Apple have their own ways of "innovating", so I won't compare them really. Next is Xiaomi, so basicaally it's down to Xiaomi and Samsung holding a two-way competition for Android. Thankfully Huawei isn't completely gone.

Instead of making their own cpu huawei will be forced to buy qualcomm cpu's.
Win for usa and also for the peopole who dont like the in-house kirin cpu's."

                  You're lying.

Nowhere did you state why you think "Huawei is banned" and your post indicates that you are enjoying the unfair ban that has been placed on Huawei while USA benefits from the further sales Qualcomm will receive as a result. Your bias is showing and it's disappointing that you're willing to overlook unfair bans because they will, ultimately, benefit you and the USA.

Crackling Doom, 14 Nov 2020So you're ok with Huawei being exploited like this? Why are you even asking such a question.
I only expressed my opinion on why huawei was banned, the possible reason.
And who is winning from all this situation.
Eliminating the competition is very wrong, but personally i dont care if huawei uses kirin or sd or MediaTek as long as there is a good reason for that and politics staying out of the way.
GMS are the only reason stopping me from buying huawei devices. Its simply to risky to put all the banking information and all the banking apps from third party websites.
So kirin or snapdragon for me doesn't matter, huawei is my first choice since 2015. I will buy the newest hiawei device as soon as the GMS ban is lifted.

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2020The US (a democracy with extensive legal framework to safeguard individual rights) is not &quo... moreUSA isn't a democracy, it's an oligarchy.

Also, USA has never been able to prove that Huawei spies on people. Meanwhile, the NSA was exposed for illegally spying on their citizens and other countries as well. American hypocrisy is staggering.

Look in the mirror before you point the finger, lest you want multiple fingers pointing back at you.
