Same like fold i dont think a screen which can breaks by nails will be a groundbreaking technology.
Rollable displays from LG or Oppo is the same.
It will be very costly and of course not good for use.

Bojank91, 16 Nov 2020Glass?It will be plastic just like the Galaxy Fold because glass needs to be heated up to certain degree to be able to change its shape.
They could create a mechanism or backplate that retracts following the screen.

pesches132, 16 Nov 2020Do you hate innovation or something? lol, this is what makes technology exciting.People like him have been around for ages - they are the people that devaluate others and constantly tries to ruin other peoples ideas and dreams.

People like him were also naysaying when the first airplane were build and when the first moon landing occured. They said it can't be done, it's useless etc.

If we listen to people like him technological advancement would subside. So don't ever listen to him or other naysayers. Believe in yourself, always.

Being this concept, the LG one and other patent made in the past, this sound like an interesting UI challenge to handle as Android isn't that flexible when it come to deeply modifying it, and here you need constant resizing/icons reorganizing to work smoothly.

Anonymous, 16 Nov 2020As usual, The Chinese manufacturers get there ahead of LG or others. Always at the forefront ... moreThis is just a concept phone, not an actual model that will be sold. Concepts are made with most of the things not even working. Its there just for show. LG filled their patent over a year ago for this model and they will reveal and actual model for sale in 4 months from now. Oppo can go for a concept, but making a concept just to reveal it as "first" is plain dumb lol. Make an actual working and official model and release it. Concepts very often dont even become real in years and years...

We might see LG slide as it is already under development. Not just a concept. Besides, Samsung already has such concept for so long. But oppo might have different imimplementation. So I am curious.

There isn't a common folk that I know (age 20-73) that ever heard about galaxy fold, nor they are interested in buying gimmicks.

Looks good, better than LG's (as per rumours) implementation where the screen rolls out horizontally

I'd very much like to see this in action. It sounds interesting. They're gone for the expand upwards rather than expand both sides.

Let's see what LG and Oppo can do with the rollable display. At least LG has a fully working public example of that idea with its own TV.

on Paper it is a good solution, but how the hollowness going to affect the touch exprince when expanding the mobile ? When you press little hard it should't bend.
