Mediatek sux, 30 Nov 2020Yes it is a lot, with as much increase in tdp too.Hmm? SoC power of Mac Mini 32w. APU power of 4800u 25w. 🤔

Mediatek sux, 30 Nov 2020Oh really? And you think the whole system power of the 4800u device is just 18w? It is. SOC power means GPU. CPU. RAM. CPU power means IGPU if it has one and the cpu cores

SupaSiblings, 30 Nov 2020M1 doesent win, whether it be R23, or Geekbench 5,It wins in single core compared to amd, and multi core compared to intel. Going by your logic, none of the chips 'win'.

Why are you even bringing up geekbench now after all that talk about how inaccurate it is? In gb5 m1 even beats 5950x in single core and 4900hs in multi.

SupaSiblings, 30 Nov 2020Apple M1 gets 30 or more wattage during benchmarks, and if you calculate it, it has lots more ... moreM1 is 24w at most, thats the estimate from the mac mini, with 7.8k cinebench multi. Theres even this video of macbook m1 with 11 to 8w with scores of 7.4 to 6.4k in cinebench multi.
                https://youtu.be/S-dOB326mlY

And the 4900hs of 35w tdp gets 11.2k multi. I couldnt find anything that shows power usage during the cinebench run. If its actually using full 35w, and compared to 24w m1. You tell me how much higher 11.2k is than 7.8k. you also tell me how much 35 is more than 24.

Where did you get the tdp of apple m1 was 37-40w? Thats the power of the whole system, not the soc. Its tdp is around 20-24w. 4800u comes in various configurable tdp from 10 to 25w. Its 25w that gives that score.

"it would be about 1.6x better then Apple in single core, and over 2x, better in multicore, Compare with watts, and theoretical performance if the other chips had the same max wattage, and nanometers, They have a 2nm advantage over AMD, and a 7nm advantage over Intel."

Yeah, but they arent available now. Lets see when the actual product comes.

"zephryus g14 has DLSS 2.0, and ryzen 5000 laptops will soon have rx 6000 and nvidia rtx 3000 series, with dlss and directml, which will probably beat the next 2 generations of Apple Mac laptop CPUs, (apple m2 and apple m3)"

Yeah, dedicated gpu beating an soc. Big news.

So, in single cor... moreWRONG, also its not 10 points,, 60 points is a pretty big difference, Not to mention, Apple M1 is *not* 5w or 10wl 8w, or anything, When you push it in benchmarks to max, it goes from 37 to 40w, So with Intel vs Apple, its 28w vs 37-40w, and 14nm vs 5nm, vs AMD its 18W versus 37-40 watts, and 7nm vs 5nm, that's NOT impressive, let's say the ryzen also takes 37 to 40w, judging by the numbers of the 18w ryzen, it would be about 1.6x better then Apple in single core, and over 2x, better in multicore, Compare with watts, and theoretical performance if the other chips had the same max wattage, and nanometers, They have a 2nm advantage over AMD, and a 7nm advantage over Intel, and has lots more wattage headroom, Dont forget a 4900hs (zephyrus g14) with 50w destroys the Apple M1 GPU, not to mention the yet Intel still wins in Single, and the zephryus g14 has DLSS 2.0, and ryzen 5000 laptops will soon have rx 6000 and nvidia rtx 3000 series, with dlss and directml, which will probably beat the next 2 generations of Apple Mac laptop CPUs, (apple m2 and apple m3)
