An update article on M1 Mac delivery times would be useful. This one is now 7+ weeks old.
I've searched on the web and there is no information on current delivery times. Not even for the base units.

Mac MIni with 16 GB of memory and a 1 TB SSD ordered in Australia from an independent Mac retailer on the 10th December. They were initially told 2 - 3 weeks delivery time by Apple Australia. Three plus weeks later and they still have no update from Apple Australia on when the delivery might be.
Fairly obvious now that Apple badly underestimated what the demand was going to be for non base M1 units. It would be nice if Apple would come clean and admit that and provide realistic estimated delivery times for the different configurations.
Instead we are getting the usual Apple mushroom treatment of don't admit to anything and with them hoping that it won't piss their loyal customers off. I'm sorry but I am a 25+ years loyal customer who is pissed off.

Anonymous, 19 Nov 2020Last time I checked Apple took a beating in the PC world to Microsoft Windows. do your research. windows apps running on QUET "bootcamp" have faster performance times than the microsoft edge X. the M1 macs also launch and run adobe apps faster as well :|

Other people who aren't reliant on Apple software, use Windows.

And Mac apps being better than ... morehah! Once apple M1 destroys AMD and intel proccesors, you guys have to use the same old "ooooh, trash OS" claims to supplement windows's serious losses.
Windows had arm support for years, yet no apps optimized for arm. All the other x86 apps are trash at emulation.

Yeah, I CHOSE NOT too actually, my Windows laptop is better than a Mac in every way. And guess what, I can play every latest game in it too. Where do you play games btw, since your Mac can't run most of those hahaha
Same goes for my Android phone, better than iPhone 12 series while being much more cheaper, and it has in box accessories too, something which isn't available in iPhones anymore.
And as for Apple being a trillion dollar company, there's only one company which sells iOS and Mac products so it's not weird at all, can you imagine how much Google will be worth if only they make Android phones, and no other company does it? Same goes for Microsoft, if only they start manufacturing Windows PC and computer, then they would have reached trillion dollar worth 10 years ago. Even without any monopoly in Windows and Android market, Apple products can't even compare to their sales lol. Makes sense, since majority don't want to buy expensive trash like some people (like you) do.

Beethoven, 18 Nov 2020Yup battery is good But so far apple payed bias reviewer only compare this new mac to old ... moreWell in that case, I'd love to see from reviewers how well those new MacBooks will fare against AMD-powered Windows laptops in real life professional tasks, such as photo editing, video rendering, code compilation, macro processing, graphics rendering and so on while running on battery. Nobody has done any of those comparisons so far which is shame, but I believe we'll see many of them popping out on the internet after a few days/weeks.

From what I have seen so far, most of the reviews are overwhelmingly positive despite those M1 Macs being the first generation product. Excellent performance (for a SoC with 10-15W TDP) and battery life - great showing from Apple.
Now let's see what Apple will be able to do next year with the upcoming higher end MBP 13 and MBP 16 and whatever the 12-core SoC they might put inside them, this is just a beginning for Apple.
