How will you be able to cover the camera? Hopefully, when it's on, a feint ring will appear around the virtual lens area. That way, you can put your finger over it if you have yet to apply blush and lipstick.

Or speaker grills betwen the glass and the frame like the xperia z5 for example. With a proper speaker and good calibration the sound can be channelled to whatever direction desired.

Anonymous, 20 Nov 2020Maybe because a pop up camera is really stupid as mechanical standpoint because it's a ni... morePop-up camera is currently the only way to have a completely bezelless screen (besides ZTE Blade 20, where the camera is still visible, and sliders like Mi Mix 3, which have more moving parts).
Oneplus 7 Pro has rubber seals on pop-up camera, sim-card tray and usb port, so technically it is water resistant.
It's all theory, but tell me one proof of broken pop-up camera since its introduction. In reality Vivo Nex 3 and Oppo Find X were released in 2018 and after 2 years there are zero broken mechanisms.
Just stop your scepticism and enjoy the technology :)

With not a single comment on the losing war of privacy, I guess we don't need privacy any more.
This is how intrusive it has become. From 2010 laptops showing you LED light when camera's on, to the time when camera itself is disappearing from your eyes.
I really think Nokia 808 was "SOS" written in code form, but with public this dumb... I guess, we just let it go.

Sounds like a good idea. While the Z Fold2 is a massive improvement over the Fold in terms of design, I still think that the single punch hole inside the folding screen ruins the aesthetics a little.

I think it's quite a good idea, even better if they'd put it right in the middle of the display so it acts more closely to an actual mirror. Though if it meant a portion of the screen is low resolution, and possibly noticeable, then I stick with my thick bezel phone.
