A software update will si... moreFor the flickering issue, yes, all companies set a minimum brightness that you can't go below because they know that at least some people will notice it. For the green tint, my s5 had the same issue and it disappeared on its own, not even a software update.
Still using S6 Edge. No burn in issues. Camera is good too. Only performance and battery life are bad.
More issues with Samsung OLED panels.. This same issue affected some Samsung, OnePlus, Sony and Xiaomi phones.

Such things never happened on Sony's OLED panels on their phones, and the reason is simple; they always make sure that every panel of every unit will be flawless and evenly-made.
If a brand that you consider to be "barely surviving" can master this, then there's absolutely no excuse for a significantly more profitable and popular manufacturer to have problems like this on their most expensive phones.
Yes, Apple really screwed up with this but just remember that the same issues are present in ALL oled displays, it's rare but it can happen on any panel and many things can affect this, so no one is safe, not Samsung, not anyone.

People see when they are in bed with lights off using very low brightness.
DroidBoye, 20 Nov 2020Midrangers does not need to satisfy very high peak brightness claims the flagships has. I wond... morehmmm, i also supposed high brightness as one of the reasons... i thought only burn is the issue on oled... considered buying a used samsung before, but thought about amoled having burn ins and some pink lines... also have nokia n8 having a display being "eaten" gradually (most parts being black)... but i just thought, those are "past" that is why i am hoping that xperia 1 ii will have no burns for the next 3 years or so...
btw, also have nokia 909 without burns yet despite of it having oled display...
as for the flickering, i experienced that with htc 8x...
...
hoping apple will be honest this time for the sake of their users - what cause it and give proper fix...
i am thinking about the dolby vision thing... that the hardware might be struggling to support it...
Shanti Dope, 20 Nov 2020It's definitely not a software issue. This happens every year...
