abigfanoftechs, 20 Nov 2020Can't you just disable it?We would rather uninstall it instead of disabling it. Remember, disable =/= uninstall.

      1. Apple collect your data, keep it on their servers. Share with NSA since 2012
      2. FB collect your data, keep it on their servers. Use for selling ads and share with any one willing to pay & available to all governments via court orders.
      3. Google collect your data, keep it on their servers. Use for selling ads & available to all governments via court orders.

My data are on the Google servers as I am an Android user.
      :-)

Actually, you can. There is a FOSS Android app called Warden which was made by the same developers who built the Aurora Store. I put a link on my earlier comment on this article, so you may want to check that out.

At least you can try to do something about it. I stumbled across this article: https://www.xda-developers.com/warden-open-source-app-aurora-store-disable-trackers-loggers/

So at last data collection will be stopped for Facebook. One of the worst data collecting and selling is the Facebook and looking forward to get this kind of privacy in android phones. I'm an android user.

Every country should license online data collection to foreign players at hefty sum. This will help government keep tighter coltrol on data malpractice and earn a portion of profits flowing to these western giants. Europe has already started working in these field.
These kind of ad services generate least number of jobs and do not really contribute anything to gdp. Only few rich gets richer. Apple has much more money than it can invest in next ten years and they always look for more and more profits. This money is just lying there in some tax heaven banks and is not helping in any cause.

Funny how sites like Google, FB, Twitter etc and companies like Apple all collect user data, and no one bats an eyelash. But when the news spread that Huawei was collecting user data, it became a cause of international security concern lol. Height of double standard.

I think at some point, all companies are collecting user data, be it to serve relevant ads, search result or something similar. No OS is free from this practices (maybe for AOSP but idk haven't use one). Yes it's bad but there's actually nothing we can do about it. Unless you're disconnected from the internet.

Apple were recently caught logging userdata on the newest Mac OS. They are no different than Facebook or Google.

I find it surprising to see this coming from Apple. Yes, they don't store your data (remember the club bombing case before?), but that doesn't mean that they won't stop their data collecting activity.
