Also this is a low score from SD 865, check the review of the OnePlus 8 it scored 919 in single and 3399 in multi, so they compared this low score to their unimpressive Mediatek to make them feel better?
Anyway it could just be unoptimized, we'll see in a few months.

MediaTek and Exynos are growing. Dragon should wake up and fire them all. And beat Apple too. Of course it can beat all of them.

It's Apple which is the thermal throttling champ this year.

People complains : "why no X1", "only SD865, when 875 will be out?"

It's only one new soc from Mediatek...
There will be an other one using TSMC's 5nm, process was reserved, this one may use X1 core.

              Like Samsung will release :
              - Exynos 1080 with A78 but not X1
              - Exynos 2100 with both

My opinion is X1 will be probably too power hungry and will be rarely used...oh yes I can get awesome score in Geekbench, but if it doesn't change the real speed of the device?

It's like iPhone, awesome geekbench scores since Apple A7...but not faster
Or it's like mmwave which won't work inside building
Nice numbers on paper but no consistant difference

There's a crazy gap between 765G and 865...soc like Exynos 1080 or this 6nm from Mediatek are the missing link.
Adds the features already available on D1000 like 5G carrier aggregation and AV1 decoding (absent on SD865) and it will be OK for my next device un summer 2021

Their budget soc is good tho better than any snapdragon

Whichever your team is,(Qualcomm, Mediatek, Exynos, Bionic.. etc.) This is great news to consumers as they will have better options in choosing their next phone, and this would also have an impact on phone companies to have more competitive prices, especially in the flagship sector. Kudos, to Mediatek for closing the gap . Now they just have to focus on their supply chain issue....

Mediatek never intends to beat snapdragon at the top, they are just trying to make chips that are affordable and relatively powerful + energy efficient.

in the end, what app can really squeeze all that performance other than benchmark? i bet my ass not 1% of users are really utilizing the peak performance.

why make powerful chips if they dont sell?

the biggest chunk of the market is in the mid and low class, i honestly think mediatek is already killing it [currently still 12nm], not to say they are shifting to 7nm for the low and mid too next year or two. The future is bright for mediatek.

Qualcomm mid relies on 665 which not as powerful as G90 [lot cheaper]*

Beethoven, 22 Nov 2020Only samsung and Qualcomm have access to x1? Why kirin and mediatek don't have this coreIt's not about that Kirin and MTK can't, they just don't want to. Cortex-X1 is open to any competitors and SoC design doesn't just happen overnight. If a company doesn't have X1, then it's part of their plan. X1 is a custom core design but the manufacturers were just the one that gives their preferred design and ARM were the ones that implement it. Companies may or may not like that kind of arrangement so it's normal to see others not opting-in.

Which are going to be served as prototypes for upcoming oneplus ... Imagined one of the phones above running oxygen os out of the box, it will definitely performance better .. people hoping for this since oneplus reintroduce their midrange lineup ...

Oneplus may keep using sd875 for flagship, and this as their midrange ... It will be a big value for money if they price it accordingly..
