Wrong. All new Pro Max have Samsung OLED and mini 12, 12 and 12 Pro have like 80% Samsung screens and 20% from LG. Boe have done zero screens for end units, they failed in quality.

No wonder why Apple can get a lot of money, they double or triple the price of BoM. Give all those materials to a Chinese smartphone brand, and I can guarantee it will see the phone for $500.

This is why Apple doesn't give more RAM, features, big sensors, fast charging, etc as this would increase the BOM thereby decreasing their profits.
Hands down the most greedy company on the planet.

Phones like Mi 10t pro on the other hand will cost you under 600 dollars for a phone with BOM close to 400 dollars.

Not very surprising but Apple could have put the R&D money into at least putting a fingerprint sensor, 120Hz display, and a USB-C port.

Samsung Note 20 Ultra's BOM is not even 50% of the phone's MSRP anyway.

I wonder how several Chinese brands get away with low profits. I suspect they cheap out OS and put adware...oh

Switched to iPhone last year and the only complaint so far is the camera. While Samsung employs much larger and advanced sensor (but poor software) Apple simply drops the ball with the hardware, relying on finely tuned software.

                        This is just B.O.M.
Other heads that go in are RnD, taxes, marketing, Intellectual input's cost, and above all 5 YEARS OF SOFTWARE UPDATES( which Android phone gives that).

Before criticizing the price with respect to just B.O.M one needs to understand above stuff which goes in too.

So instead of that basically useless 5G modem (-90 USD) one could have double the RAM (+13 USD), double the flash memory (+19 USD), maybe better camera sensors and not only the phone would be better in almost every possible real world scenario, but Apple's profit would still be higher (marketing lure of 5G necessity left aside).

What about the OS software and the people developing it?? Why people only think about the hardware cost. The final cost will really justifies apple cost
