Well folks, the guy just admitted it. To be fair its kinda not his fault though.

Pai said that ZTE isn’t disputing the fact that Chinese law obligates its companies to leave a backdoor for the government for “intelligence gathering activities”.

Anonymous, 25 Nov 2020BBK and Xiaomi do not have 5G network. Huawei and Zte do. It has zero to do with cellphones. Then why did they ban Huawei from using Google and smartphone components?

FCC chairman is an Indian Ajit Pai. So it's clearly indian origin will go against any chinese company to stop working in USA because of china India problem.

The last 3 revisions of the ADSL/VDSL router that my ISP gives were rebranded ZTE ones, this ISP is by far the largest in the country. We are being spied! XD

I have a ZTE phone I'm very happy with. Does this affect phone sales? My phone is a Blade Z Max Z982, running Android 7.1.1 and if I want another phone I'll check ZTE. Hopefully this just applies to infrastructure technology.

It's simply protectionism. Protecting the interest of apple. America's baby. The first trillion dollar company in the world. Also a company that charges very high prices. Huawei and ZTE have been selling phones for years. The idea that China is trying to spy on the USA and it's federal agencies is just comical. Is there a world war three on the horizon? No. This is just nonsense. You all know that too. The choice is getting lesser and lesser for american consumers.
