It would consume like, at... moreThey only used it on the note 20 ultra and that phone has about the same battery life as the s20 ultra which has 500mAh more capacity so it obviously does work. LTPO allows the display to only refresh at the speed that what you’re doing supports it. So YouTube videos are 30fps so it only refreshes at 30hz whereas on the home screen or in a browser it can refresh at 120hz as it’s supported so the battery life savings depend on what you do on your phone

My sister owns the Galaxy S20+ SNAPDR... moreI feel you guys are arguing without actually listening to what each other are saying. Is 120hz a massive battery drain, yes. Will you get much better battery life at 60hz, yes. But it’s also a feature that is here to stay and with companies using tech like LTPO it should have less of an impact than it has on other phones. Look at note 20 ultra vs s20 ultra, they have similar battery life yet the note has 500mAh less battery capacity but has an LTPO display. So it’s a battery drain but it’s also something that is here to stay so companies will have to make improvements to the batteries and displays so it actually lasts a day.

wongwatt, 26 Nov 2020My OnePlus 8 Pro had awful battery life in high resolution/high refresh setting...Lol what awful battery? Using it for the past 5 months.
1080p+@120Hz gives me 9-9.5hr SOT.
QHD+@120HZ used to give me 7.5-8hr SOT.

Anonymous, 25 Nov 2020Plz research abt LTPO amoledAnd what about it? Not like they changed so many components with it. It would consume like, at most 5% less battery, but still not enough to endure a fully working 120Hz panel for a whole day.
Besides, isn't Samsung already using them on their flagships? Now we can obviously tell that it didn't make enough of an improvement from common OLEDs.

Anonymous, 25 Nov 2020"Permanent 120Hz is a huge battery draining feature" Completely false statement d... moreYou really don't know what you are saying, do you?
My sister owns the Galaxy S20+ SNAPDRAGON model, and she keeps it at 120Hz Power Saving Mode just because the HRR is a huge battery hog. What else do I don't know about HRRs? Should I still stay that I own a Redmi K30 5G that's constantly set to 120Hz all day and tell you how it needs recharging for at least twice per day with moderate usage?
Now this is with both in FHD+, imagine QHD+ of the same refresh rate.

Make sure you do your research first before assuming things of me. You surely don't want me coming to your location and slapping our 120Hz phones on your face.

So only major downside is the smaller pixels (0.8 compared to 1) but with a wider aperture (2.0 compared to 2.4) if it’s the same camera as the s20 then it should be about on par. And you would think with them having a year since s20 to perfect the photos and this being a more expensive phone that the photos out of the telephoto should be better than s20 fe. Still won’t be as good as the ultra or the latest huawei phones at zoom though

Anonymous, 25 Nov 2020Many other phones use cameras that take 12MP photos. But Apple keeps 1/2.55" size and 1.4 pixel size. Only Pro Max does an upgrade this year.

damn Samsung, always make weird controversial design.
Also push a lot of their exynos.

if i choose iPhone, apple always stay with their old notch and 12 MP cam. Also refuse to add 120 Hz and give better battery capcity.

Maybe better stick with BBK flagships, or maybe plan for Mi 11

Completely false statement debunked already.
It's 2020, HRR isn't going anywhere.
Plenty of phones giving 100hr endurance with high refresh rate of 120hz.

You don't even own a high end 120hz phone.
