It is the novelty of the "5g" branding, being an "early adopters" we pay the price for it. Believe me in a year all 5g phones will be at least 30% cheaper. It is sad since 5g atm is overrated it is unreliable and flaky on most of the 5g networks. On top of that many of the 5g phones do not support milimetar waves so no real future proofing here too.

For A53 5G that is totally different model will be on the side. Just read more of the article. A53 is with SD460 but A53 5G is with Dimensity 720

If this was Samsung, price would make sense but Chinese low quality brands like Oppo should be $150 max.
