Nothing happens to them.Exaggeration is different though it doesn't affect the overall function of the device it could be just an option & subjective as each camera operates on its own advantage and disadvantages, whereas the factor that can potentially make your mobile useless after spending anywhere $800 - $2200 (depending on where you live) is different. You see the advertisement thinking that your mobile can survive water and remain careless by accidentally step out in a rain with the mobile thinking that it is perfectly safe after watching the TV commercial

In French, the equivalent word is "gens" which is always written with a "s" as it follow the NORMAL use of grammar which consist of using the letter "s" when you refer to plural.
