Remember that A14+iOS are tightly integrate & optimized. Yet the A14 is still falling behind.
Apple hardware engineers aren't as good as those at Qualcomm.

Yeye, 03 Dec 2020I'm wondering how powerful can gaming phones be using that processor and how cheap phone ... moreWhat's the point? Gaming is shit on Mobile because the developers are either to cowardly or too greedy and sighted.

They just wanna develop microtransaction filled time wasters for the Mobile market.

Also, users share much of the blame for this too because when good ports or original games have in fact come to Android, they haven't made the money that others can look to and feel encouraged....

"The 888 also features a Hypervisor, a feature first added to the PC-oriented 8cx Gen 2 chip. This is more of a server and desktop feature as it allows multiple OSes to run on the same hardware while being completely separate from each other (so, if one is compromised, the security of others is unaffected)."

I definitely want to see this in Windows 10 ARM laptops and tablets.

If you aren't going to do basic due diligence and look at Antutu's own explanations for why cross-platform comparisons aren't valid with their own software, then you are lost.

This is the literal quote word for word from Antutu themselves:

Recently, Antutu noticed that some users are comparing the scores of Antutu iOS version with the scores of Antutu Android version, which we think is unfair comparison.

First of all, since there are obvious differences in the kernel and the development language used by the iOS system and the Android system, the iOS version and the Android version of Antutu Benchmark are two different softwares and the test methods for the two versions are significantly different.

Second, Antutu iOS version and Antutu Android version use different APIs when running the GPU test. The iOS version uses Apple’s Metal API while the Android version uses OpenGL ES and vulkan API. Although the test scenarios used in the two versions are the same, the rendering mechanisms are different, neither does the stress requirement for the hardware.

All in all, the scoring mechanisms for the iOS version and the Android version of Antutu Benchmark are significantly different, and therefore the test results of the two versions are not directly comparable.

To put it simply, the test results of Antutu benchmark only support the comparison within the same system based on the same major version and not support cross-version or cross-platform comparison.

Even Dimensity 1000 series are SD865 rival; look at the CPU, NOT benchmark numbers!
Benchmark Numbers are BS; real world performance (gaming, speed test, encoding, etc) are what matters!

Do u realize that 'a midrange that has this CPU' is better than 'proper' flagship oftentimes?
                        in mid-range device, u get:
                        - 3.5mm jack (a MUST-HAVE feature for 'healthy' livestyle)
                        - IPS LCD (more long-lasting, no PWM, no 'green screen')
                        - microSD slot (just search here, how many 'proper' SD865 flagship which still have it?)
                        - Big battery (xiaomi at least give u 4000mAh, other brands 4000-7000mAh, excluding Oukitel which give 10,000mAh)
                        - 'sane' price tags (why pay more to get less?) yes, I'm looking at u, hyphone!

it seems like that Quallcomm is probably trying to entice the chinese market as 888 is very auspicious as the US and China trade war may cease soon, kinda strange why they chance the naming convention after 4 generations, 835, 845, 855 and 865, are they targeting Chinese market with this type of name? esp with competition from which was not a great as before, in form of exynos, kirin, dimensity, etc

it's also noted that qualcomm system on a chips have increasing it's price each generation, nowadays, very expensive compare to qualcomm flagship 5 years ago, hopefully this one 888 is not too expensive, LG has stated that 865 was prohibitively expensive to use
