Let's be honest: Pixel 5 is not the definition for premium phone or flagship. This is another failed intend to make an affordable phone and the prices wasn't affordable.
They saved a lot of money in the Pixel 5 constuction 😌, they say anything in the publicity to sell more, but it's full of life. Thats why I made the migration to OnePlus (for the disappointment).
AnonD-804996, 03 Dec 2020I don't understand putting metal underneath plastic. It's like old devices that had ... moreThey used plastic instead of metal for wireless charging and NFC, those signals and energy doesn't conduct well through metal.
So from a durability standpoint, it's actually sturdier than the premium glass back phones like Samsung or OnePlus.
Also some prefer the plastic finish, nicer to the touch, less fingerprint, and hey it doesn't crack
Qwerty, 03 Dec 2020Google has been exposed again of their misleading marketing. LOLI guess so....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Anonymous, 04 Dec 2020My pixel 2 is still going as well. Changing to the 5 soon thoughThat is actually the same upgrade path that I took. Very nice upgrade. For one thing, the screen is the same size as what you are coming from with the phone itself just shrunk down around it!
The screen of this phone is so slick that the phone slide off the table by itself. There are some type of coating on it. I dropped this phone down on the floor every other day because of this slickness. Such, it is pretty damn durable.
I dont know if it is true but google actually replaced the the pixel 5 with a cheaper version of it due to covid 19 they didn't wanted it to be expensive
moralrelativity, 04 Dec 2020My Pixel 2 XL is still going strong. My pixel 2 is still going as well. Changing to the 5 soon though
Exposed!
Mac, 03 Dec 2020Google asked they're bad in hardware..we'd accept it... hopefully the becoming pixel... moreMy Pixel 2 XL is still going strong.
This is outrageous. Destroying a brand new device is almost criminal act.
Anonymous, 03 Dec 2020The 5 has Gorilla Glass 6, an aluminum body with an opening for wireless charging, 90hz, bigge... moreBut it doesnt have an aluminium body though, did you watch the video 😅
Qwerty, 03 Dec 2020Google has been exposed again of their misleading marketing. LOLI think you need to own and use the pixel 5 to see how great it is. The Google optimization is great, the perfectly even bezel design looks fantastic. It feels great in the hand. The 90hz screen makes it feel snappier than the Pixel 4a 5G. The Pixel 5 is severely underated. The 4a 5G on a budget is definitely a better value but I chose the 5 for its even bezels, 90hz display, bigger battery and wireless charging.
Qwerty, 03 Dec 2020Google has been exposed again of their misleading marketing. LOLThe 5 has Gorilla Glass 6, an aluminum body with an opening for wireless charging, 90hz, bigger battery, and IPX 6 or 7. The 4a5g has none of that.
It all depends on what you need or want. If none of them matter to you, then the 4 is a better value.
Google asked they're bad in hardware..we'd accept it... hopefully the becoming pixel series will be more more more more great than all controversial old devices...🙂
abigfanoftechs, 03 Dec 2020The Pixel 5 is a $349 phone at best from the hardware point of view. It is to promote the pixel 4a, nobody is gonna buy the pixel 5 obv
Anonymous, 03 Dec 2020Metal is used as a structural material (reinforcement). Guess you love shards more than scratc... moreI was talking about weight in general, not in phones. Also yeah, I prefer glass. I never smash my phones, but they get scratched non stop from god knows what. Plastic looks terrible, so does metal. Only glass is somewhat resistant. And since I prefer white glass phones, the micro scratches or fingerprints are not visible at all.
Bodygard, 03 Dec 2020Of course it's gonna have better battery, it has a SoC which is less powerful than Snap86... moreCouldn’t agree more mate. But I prefer the Pixel 4a 5G, same specs as the Pixel 5 but with a headphone jack 🥳 Google should stick at the midrange market or better bring back the Nexus series - collab with major brands.
