Anonymous, 03 Dec 2020Glass breaks because you keep on buying forms of glass that break. I work in material design, ... moreWhat is so complicated to understand?
You cant put something that is not ready for mass production on a product that requires millions and millions of units.
Unless you sell the product for a ridiculously high price which nobody is willing to pay. And phones are already very expensive.

If you know better glass solution than share it, or go collaborate wirh some manufacturer, if not than dont be so spoiled and being angry because you want something that is cant be made.
And yes, im against any innovation, thats why i buy all those phones, tablets, TVs every year. Shame on me.
Anonymous, 03 Dec 2020Wich one is better flat earth or curved earth ? Are you going to write on a "curved" earth?
joe nodden, 03 Dec 2020I don't recall asking. 😂😂😂

Donbenie, 03 Dec 2020Why don't you go right ahead and fabricate non breakable and non scratchable screens for ... moreGlass breaks because you keep on buying forms of glass that break. I work in material design, there are definitely forms of glass that are very hard/ impossible to break, however they are very expensive because they have not entered mass production.
Only reason they have not entered mass production is because you (the consumers) keep on buying bad glass (that is already in mass production) so it is uneconomical to make the switch, so they dont. Upfront costs are a thing and they won't pay them if you dont make them and keep on buying phones that need screen protectors.
Just.stop.please, you are ruining it for everybody.
Donbenie, 03 Dec 2020Why don't you go right ahead and fabricate non breakable and non scratchable screens for ... moreI don't need to. The market forces would if you let them for once. If you keep buying bad products you keep on feeding anti-innovation. Refuse to buy new phones that still have easy to break glass, we are 13 years since the first touch based phone, nothing has changed.
Btw sapphire already exists and it is a thing, it is much harder to break. The only reason we got it now (kind of) is because sheeple were buying apple phones. Even though they had ready the technology in 2017 they did not put it in, because people kept on buying.
Imagine if you were not to buy bad phones how much faster innovation would have happened. The smartphone revolution only happened because people made the right choice. If they had chosen the old nokias we would still be using them and smartphones would be dead.
Now people make the wrong choice and buy breakable screens, so we keep on getting breakable screens. Stop buying screen protectors, have higher standards!

Anonymous, 03 Dec 2020I mean you are the one who goes against innovation. The tech version of anti-vaxxer.You know what. Pleace just try to read your previous comment, this is even not worth discussing about.
Like the other fella said, try to fabricate your own glass if you have that much knowledge.
By now we should have unbreakable glass?
Hurry up, all those engineers are waiting for you to show them their path.
What a joker.
Ed, 03 Dec 2020I like it, it looks really good, no punch hole perfectI agree, holes or any sort of cuts in the diplay look ugly
Premium should be spotless

It's very easy to sit on your armchair and castigate the current technological advances on screens without anything to offer.
You think if it is that simple, these companies wouldn't have done it yet?
Newsflash, glass breaks and glass scratches and that is an inherent property..
AnonD-955101, 03 Dec 2020Ok karen... I mean you are the one who goes against innovation. The tech version of anti-vaxxer.
Should I buy the Mi 10 at 515 euros or wait for the Mi 11?...
joe nodden, 03 Dec 2020That's not the issue here. That's what they've done well. One of the things i dislike about my mi 10 is curved display

AnonD-955101, 03 Dec 2020Are you serious? 😅
You scratch the glass, you can replace it.
Scratch the display and it is... more> Scratch the display
Why should you be able to scratch the display? That's my point. Why do you support bad products by giving them a free pass when buying a screen protector?
Ceramic basically cant scratch but it can shatter, then you have sapphire which cant shatter butnif easy to scratch. The problem is technical and companies should have had good solutions already, they mostly don't because laymen keep buying screen protectors instead of complaining about the shoddy quality of the screens (i.e. by not buying the new model that keeps on using a screen that needs a screen protector).
Users with low standards are the bane of this industry. They killed the replaceable battery, the miniaturization (that used to be the norm instead of the exeption), and ofc make hard for shatter/scratch proof glass to develop faster (because they keep on buying shoddy screens basically).
You are part of the problem and I am telling you "stop".
