Pretty sure Google has long removed the Android Beam function since Android 10...

Jon, 05 Dec 2020What was the issue besides the closed eye thing? They released an update to address it as well... moreFor the stock Android, it does, but that's the issue, everyone else has a better implementation, the worse part is, those who don't have their own implementation have to use the inferior Google version.
They could come up with something like Nova Launcher as part of the base OS, and though I have no experience with Google phones myself, many report Google phones having poor quality but also being a quite meh experience.
Knowing they are the owner and creator of Android, they should do better.

Yeah, this is almost certainly fake...
These are just a few things that give it away:
Not only is the name nothing like what the pixel line follows, this phone apparently has dual sim, which is never seen before in a google phone (google uses nano and a combination of e-sim since the pixel 2)
The second and third image also show a cutout in the bottom left for the headphone jack and what looks like a side fingerprint sensor (even if it were a pixel phone, google always puts the headphone jack in the top left area of their phones, and google releasing a side fingerprint sensor is unheard of until now if true)
The screen's black backdrop seems to have every individual pixel lit up (this is probably meaning the camera quality affects this, or this phone uses an LCD panel,) which is non existent on a launched pixel phone, I mean, even the pixel 3a had an OLED panel.
If I had to guess, I would think it's the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro because the phone adequately matches these things, and other things like the bottom bezel being quite large, the photos which show two quite high volume rockers, (likely because case on), and more tidbits.

Anyone can pick and type ANY device name in the about phone settings. It's the model info that should have been displayed if this were a real teaser. Nothing leaked here. This is just a spoof that someone is ROFL about, because the device is already on the market. Show us the Model & Hardware screen in about phone if you want us to believe a leaked prototype is pictured.

Doesn't matter that it's fake. We still need smaller phones, so fake or not, at least get the discussion going. A pixel 4a mini with a 4-5" 16:9 display would be absolute killer

It has enough space in bezels to house that punch hole camera.. but google(not only google) be like let's make it ugly we should be different. punch holes, multiple cameras and other features these days are given for the sake of giving.

Anonymous, 04 Dec 2020Until the tech is ready, I'd much rather have a hole I stop paying attention to after 10 ... moreBud ya can't just stop paying attention to a hole when it literally cuts a chunk out of what you're trying to view.

And no no no, the tech is ready. The Axon 20 5G's selfie camera works just fine. No camera works well for facial recognition unless you've got an array of cameras for depth mapping, because any sub par lighting and you can forget facial unlocking.

This is something that google was working on for some years now where they're partnering up with amazon.

The XE stands for Xtreme Eye.

This model will allow both companies to watch and listen to you all the time (just like with their AI speakers), but this time around there will be no option tondisablenyour camera/ microphone, nor they'll be an option to disable this service.
