It's same as when you have something GTX 680 and then rebuild your PC and have 3080 in it the difference will be insane. It's probably bad version of how to compare it but point is same as the PS4 is something 7-8 years old hardware so if you upgrade to PS5 it will have better visuals for sure. Having 2 graphics cards need the support from the game too. Well at least it was for PC and not every game had the support or made it work well as i know i use to have x2 680 in my PC like 10 years ago

so we have to see if it's all rumor or there is something in the works actually.

You can't work on a console (PS5 or Xbox) or carry it with you. For gamers who also use PCs to work, web surfing, multimedia and whatnot, and if they travel a lot, a gaming laptop is a more sensible option. And it's not that hard to clean a laptop (hardware-wise or software-wise).

The ps5 is really nice how it is and visuals do look a step up( I own one). I'll upgrade the the pro when or if it's released as well as VR
Anonymous, 04 Dec 2020Never cleaned my PS2 and everything worked fine until I sold it.Cleaned out an overheating and loud PS4. Was full of dust. There you go.
Anonymous, 04 Dec 2020Consoles don't need cleaning? You know that dust gets stuck in consoles as well, right?Never cleaned my PS2 and everything worked fine until I sold it.
Kriegsherr, 04 Dec 2020Nope. High resolution rendering done by single cpu is often slower than dual. Gaming consoles ... moreIt does not matter much as the consoles dont have graphics options in games so if the game need to run on there PS5 that is even without the disc version then you dont benefit much from the Pro version. Never mind the fact that when each console will be out 5-10 years then all games suffer cause of that. Now think of all the games that are coming out 1 year before new generation console is coming out. They all need to run on decade old laptop hardware and these consoles cant have the best laptop hardware on the market in them cause the price need to stay under 500 euro for people to buy it so it cant pack that good powerful hardware cause they wont make profit on it. It just dont make any business sense. Or they get there money back for the online access everyone need to pay that they talk about like it's a server rent or what ever excuse with especially there expensive games too that are like 20 euro less on PC and no need to pay for online tax.

PlayStation OS is nothing but a forked version of Free BSD OS, it's just like Mac or Linux with Custom GMX/GMNX Apis.
Anonymous, 04 Dec 2020That was due to software development. The hardware and idea was fantastic.Software support is poor because it's a mess to program. GPUs need to interact with each other all the time, sending and receiving data back and forth. It adds some unavoidable delays that stops the system from reaching 100 percent higher performance.
GPU is a complete system on its own and its control unit and scheduler is super complex to design. Now having 2 control unit to synchronize is whole new level of complexity. Best case scenario you get 80 percent higher fps, but with frame pacing issue and input lag. Worst case scenario, game will stutter so bad it'll be unplayable or outright not run. In any case, you have double power consumption, heat and noise.
A single huge gpu is much much better.
Anonymous, 04 Dec 2020A pro ps5 is due in a three years timeMore like early 2022, if the current state of PS5 is become obsolete within 6 months.
More like consistent 4K @60 with fidelity mode (true 4k and ray tracing)
Because now most games run 4K @30 at fidelity.
Btw 2xGPU is not 2x performance, probably more like 1.5x

I like how a lot of y'all are bashing on people for buying a PS5 instead of a PC for no reason.
How about you mind your own business?

Anonymous, 04 Dec 2020Who said anything about smartphones? Look at PC and SLI. It's not worth it. One powerful ... moreYep, agree. I used to have two Nvidia cards in SLI, 560 Ti or something like that and it wasn't worth it. Maybe 25% gained performance but for a much higher power consumption, overheating, high noise levels. It was like having a small nuclear power plant in my living room.

Kriegsherr, 04 Dec 2020Nope. High resolution rendering done by single cpu is often slower than dual. Gaming consoles ... moreSyncing 2 GPUs will drop performance and takes away some full frame effects as each gpu processes half frame. iirc, AA and vsync can't work with multiple gpu, frame pacing is worse and input lag is high.
Not to mention more heat, poor support and not enough improvement (dual sli would increase fps by 40-70 percent if supported, if not, it may actually drop fps or outright not running.)
Serra Kennedy, 04 Dec 2020Oh my God just buy a gaming laptop or desktop PC with a controller. Both will be much cheaper ... moreWhen did a gaming console cost higher than a gaming PC?
What planet are you from? Have you ever owned a console?
