Anonymous, 05 Dec 2020Doubt anybody bought the pixel this year. Seems to be selling well in the UK, especially the green model.

Of course the display is easy to replace, some of them are shipping with it half out of the frame.
Relying on just glue to hold anything in is a bit dodgy in my thinking, I like to see proper fixings.
Not that I plan on buying a Pixel 5, Google always find a way to ruin them - last year it was leaving out the fingerprint sensor, this year they've taken away the zoom lens and fitted a weaker processor - a hard pass for me.

Loyalist, 05 Dec 2020Nice phone by Google but sadly very underrated. I wouldn't say that Pixel 5 is underrated but it is certainly overpriced even having mid range chipset. Last year Pixel 4 has much faster processor, outstanding Face Unlock, very good stereo speakers, proper Zoom camera, dedicated neuro-core chip for image processing, just okay battery life after Android 11 update and.... it's much cheaper by now than Pixel 5. So the choice is obvious.

Anonymous, 05 Dec 2020Doubt anybody bought the pixel this year. True. No point to upgrade even from Pixel 3 - the best one to my opinion.

Google should get fined for advertising a plastic back, as "metal". Similar to Samsung with their UTG.

Is this an ad? We knew about the easy screen replacement the first time it was tore down on video.

"Even after inadvertently piercing the back of the Pixel 5’s battery (which caused a few sparks to fly) and after an hour batch in acetone, the Pixel 5 still powered back on."

No it doesn't. It's dead after he punctured the battery.
