I also heard feedback from other users.

Boggy-Stefy, 06 Dec 2020All flagships are overrated. That's why iphone is the most overrated of them all. Because... moreIf people knew about manufacturing costs, they might realise the video their flagship does could be put into a $100 camera. The Yi 4k+ action cam is not a great example, but is telling. They did 4k 60fps with a flagship chip. But when people adjusted the internal cameras configuration, it got high bit rate recording and other things. A number of cameras and phones are kept down.
Since the hacking, Yi wasn't offering such key specs, and the stereo 3D 5.7k disappeared, and they offered less and less. If you are not paying top dollar for professional systems, your camera is likely tuned down so people buy more for expensive cameras.
There are backroom deals which violate, anti trust anti-competitive market manipulation laws. So, you don't get the value for your money, unless you buy the cheapest hard to manufacture for price devices.
Even a $20 phone should record descent videos.
It's time that mobile video performance was taken out of the closet.
Oh, so they received more money.
MrHong, 06 Dec 2020I myself don't trust DxO but if an iPhone gets some praised by a site/reviewer then it... moreAll flagships are overrated. That's why iphone is the most overrated of them all. Because all of them are expensive. Even "the entry level models".
Nowadays, with what low-prices phones are capable of, paying more than 400-500EUR for a phone is a waste of money. Especially if you're an average person with average income.
But, people minds are easily deceived, and if they see some nice advertising, they will go and buy 800, 1000EUR phones without necessarily needed them.
Not that I like the phone or the company in particular, but for example, in Czech Republic you can get now a Poco F2 Pro with 380EUR, new. No matter how people will say that specs don't matter, when you look at what that phone is capable of on paper, at just 380EUR, how can you pay 1200EUR for a Note 20 Ultra for example? Just for some small improvements each and there? No thanks, not 3 times the price for sure. The same case scenario with iphones, or Sony flagships, or whatever other flagship.
The brand name loyalty was good maybe 4-5 years ago, nowadays, is waste of money to be a fanboy of any particular company.
OnePlus needs to work on their cameras.
Yeah ok.
Well time for DXO to be better.
The important thing is, objective video camera picture quality scores, and compared to neutral, giving precision of recording codec and noise level picture at each dynamic range stop. Then manual control scores.
The reality is, you can't really test this on the standard compromised camera app to get the best the phone can do. You have to also test it under the best something like the Filmic PRO app can do, in comparison to the best pro camera.

Both the MI 10 ultra & Huawei flagship are out of your budget.

I myself don't trust DxO but if an iPhone gets some praised by a site/reviewer then it's biased.
If an Android especially Chinese ones are degraded or bashed then it's also biased, even if it's obvious that phone has such weakness.
I think the Mi 10 Ultra is so overrated. Huawei can stay as king of photography.
Anonymous, 05 Dec 2020Apple finally paid DXOMark.True, true...
Wazzzupppp!!
[deleted post]Same thing can be said to you vice-versa. Despite never owned an Apple phone, but used a few, their photo do cater for the 'general' mass that lots people won't hated deeply as a whole and think it decent or good, in comparison with the highly overshoot green due to foliage enhancement in many Android phones - that right, especially the Chinese vendors.
I can take HDRs, but not consistent over- green / blue enhancement through out with even standard photo. And that applies to Oppo and OnePlus. With Xiaomi, all I can say it a disappointment in the camera department as a whole (haven't tried anything after the Mi6), pretty similar to any of the non flagship Samsung.
vvo, 05 Dec 2020DxOMark are so out of line in their tests. Obviously they are anything but objective sometimes. Sometimes? Anyone one rate overshot green dynamic (due to foliage enhancement) high in non-HDR is subjective. Nevermind one's biased towards to white balance of each major vendor. And DxO is subjective, well 90% of the time.
Apple finally paid DXOMark.
AlexP, 05 Dec 2020Wow, someone paid a lotThey did a similar thing by delaying the score for the S20 ultra.
DxOMark scores can be easily compromised.
