Apple, why do you have to price it so absurdly? Are you telling me that your headset is much better than the veterans like Bose, Sennheiser, Sony, etc that you priced it way above theirs? Even if it matches the audio quality, there's no way to justify that price. With that money, I'd rather get a Sony XM4 with a lot more money to spare because I value AUDIO QUALITY on headphones rather than some logo
btw, the design looks utter sh*t!

I am no expert or audiophile but I use LG phones and high quality yet affordable headphones because I love high quality audio. It literally changed my perception of audio quality and I am now actively looking if a headset or audio file has high audio quality or not like mp3 vs AAC or FLAC, etc.
This headset is made for Apple fans to drool over and I am sure in no time, the most loyal Apple fans will defend this the same way they defended the Mac Pro stand, wheels, removal of the charger on iPhones, etc

$550 is not cheap, then again wireless headphones aint cheap, then again this costs way more than Sony Sony WH-1000XM4. It costs almost twice as much. Them again Apple will pull some gimmicks a la 3d touch again and millions will open their wallets for them.
Well, at least its more functional than $999 monitor stand (btw, what kind of company sells monitor without stand?).

Anonymous, 08 Dec 2020That is obvious , sony does not license to other headphones makers. They allow it as part of... moresome mmcx neckband, 1more neckbands, some headphones(not sony), its not just sony with ldac codec. I got planar headphones with ldac and its 1/3 cheaper than this one.

Not foldable ? Such a shame.
That case looks ugly and unnatural, unlike normal apple products...it really looks like a cheap knock off case.
As for the sound quality with wired connection, I find it hard to justify paying more then for an Audio Technica A50X.
That will not stop Apple selling millions of these, their marketing machine is top notch.
