Got a couple of calls after IPhone 12 series launch from people thanking me for importing and delivering the MI 10 ultra at their doorstep.
All these guys were previously using Apple or Samsung flagships.
They wanted an upgrade, were disappointed with the Exynos inside Samsung S20/Note 20 Ultra and lackluster leaks of the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
These folks seemed super happy with their decision to avoid Samsung and Apple this year. Plenty of them saved around Rs.40k by ditching weak iPhone 12 Pro Max.

In India:
MI 10T costs Rs.36k (approx. 480$).
Mi 10T Pro costs Rs.40k (approx. 535$).
S20 FE (Exynos) costs Rs.41k (approx. 550$).
OP8T costs Rs.43k (approx. 575$).

wongwatt, 14 Dec 2020you invalidated you list by saying the Xperia 5 II is a compact phone...A little taller device doesn't make it less compact as Ui elements can do the job of you never having to worry about reaching top of the screen.
Look at the width of Xperia 5 II, it's perfect for compact size.
The width makes one handed experience impossible.
Another reason why iPhone 12 pro Max is called huge by reviewers as it is too wide while phones with similar footprint are more easy to use due to smaller width.

Although, and this is preferences the flagship killer i consider a 3 way tie between the mi 10t (or pro but yeah the t is almost the same), s20 fe and oneplus 8t
For me I'd place em like this do to what is important to me
1. Oneplus 8t. I love oneplus and it has some things which for me are better than the mi10t
2. Xiaomi mi 10t or 10t pro. Xiaomi is a great brand, it has everything, some things are missing but they are nitpicks like lcd screen and other stuff
3. S20fe, it's great but I'm not a big fan of Samsung, the charging is a bit slow, I only get the exynos one which... Yeah its the exynos, even with SD my opinion wouldn't change

Simple Mi 10 Ultra is seriously one of the best flagship phones you can buy it excels others in most areas and doesn't have any major cons
Best Flagship Killer: Mi 10T
Some may say it should be S20 FE or Mi 10T Pro but the vanilla cost half of these phones and doesn't have any major cons, it has capable camera, stereo speakers, impressive screen with 144hz HRR, flagship SoC and what not while costing the as same as Galaxy A71!!!
Best Camera Phone: Mi 10 Ultra and Mate 40 Pro+
These are some of the most versatile camera setups on the market with impressive results
Best Mid Range: Nova 7i and Poco X3 NFC
Huawei Nova 7i has the best 4G SoC with impressive camera and fastest charging in the price range but with one major drawback of no GMS, Poco X3 NFC doesn't match Nova 7i's SoC, cameras or charging speeds but it offers its own goodies like stereo speakers, better display, NFC and GMS
Best Affordable 5G: Mi 10T Lite or Mi 10 Lite
Both are pretty similar and similarly priced so it's a tough choice I couldn't pick one
And what is iPhone 12 Mini doing in this category? It's priced around $650-700 which is no way affordable IMO

Of the choices, the note 20 ultra wins hands down. The only disadvantage it has is the price.
