And it's great for potential new buyers to check out the phone before buying and for newcommer reviewers to revuew and than return the phone

Does the charger rent separately?
actually it may not worth it if we're decided to use the smartphones for daily use. but for someone who want to make a review video or maybe comparsion video, this is a pretty good deal.
That's not rental.! That's down-payment.!

It is pointless to upgrade after just one year, especially so for flagships.
And even if you do, you can just sell your phone for the same or more than the difference they are offering.
This is a rip-off for people who are not smart enough.

Thanks samsung but we already have GROVER in germany. Much cheaper prices and 90% damage repair cost.

Renting phones is better than having them on the shelves.
S4 alone (without active and mini) sold 80 million units.
Now S and Note combined barely reach 20 mi.
Scamsung at it again
AnonD-804996, 10 Dec 2020Yeah, that's from user perspective. But what's in for Samsung? It's literally a... moreWhat? Do you really believe that people don't have accidents and care more of rented phones? Where is the small letter in the contract? One or two mistakes done by renters and those phone wil lbe completely give profit. You'll have being charged for a full repairment with public prices lol. Are you going to put the phone inside a super shield while you rent it? Do you believe that people at Samsung are idiots? They will win money with this for sure and a lot people remember what a rent means.... You own nothing. If something happen you lose money without nothing for you.
You can rent a house for as long as you want even if it comes out cheap. But the day you have a problem and get rid of it, aside the reason, you're on the fuc**ng street and nothing belongs to you... Wake up.
Rent for a temporal use it's ok for a while if needed but don't think that they even in that case are going to lose money. They know their margin and own business better than you.
Shamesong is crazy, 110 euro for a month?
Pathetic.
AnonD-804996, 10 Dec 2020Yeah, that's from user perspective. But what's in for Samsung? It's literally a... moreYou don't actually believe the phones really cost what you pay for them on day one, do you? Typical BoM cost is around 40-45% of the price. Add another 20% for develolment costs and what is left is around 30% for profit in the chain to the user. So, yoi basicslly pay the costs + tiny profit with the first year of renting. Then whatever happens - either you continue to pay or return and the phone gets re-sold as refurbished for half the price - this is pure profit.
This is just an attempt to make the phone a service - with guaranteed monthly fee.

You can now for 200/year have new phone instead of paying 800-1600 for a device you shall not be able to resell for more than 350 after 12 months which makes you take more 500 out of pocket next year.
