Still use Sony Vaio E series.
I purchased this Sony Vaio laptop with an Intel i3 around 7 years back for 33K.
Now it uses a 1TB SSD and 6GB RAM. One of the best laptops I have used.
Great idea, they were always one of the best, very well made. They were made like what dell's xps series are, before xps laptops ever existed.
What Vaio needs is an ultrathin notebook with a 13" 4k IPS display with a high refresh rate, if possible a convertible like envy x360 with a good stylus. Ryzen 7 4800u would be great, but most likely the models are limited to Ryzen 7 4700u or the Ryzen 5 4600u. Would be great if they had the upcoming 5800u with zen 3 cores, but that's highly unlikely since it seems like it would be an India exclusive laptop at least for now (we can actually expect it to be the obsolete 3700u because of the same reason).. If it is Renoir or newer, then a LPDDR4X 4266 would make it a great choice considering the fact than only Lenovo Yoga slim 7 seems to be offering such configurations (EU only).. Well Vaio should go vivid with a lot of available colour options like AVITA xD
Once you use a Vaio just don't like any other laptop. I am happy that they are restarting. Will replace my old with the new Vaio.
Vaio still makes the best ultrabooks you can buy. It's just a shame that they keep S15 model for Japan only. I would buy that in a heartbeat, UHD HDR 15.5 inch screen in 14 inch package with freakin 4K BluRay drive
I ❤ VAIO, and as a matter of fact I still use one. It is the love 💘 of my life.
Well here in Slovakia most stores who sells PC had VAIO for sale but at very expensive price.
Even the low specced notebooks cost around 1000 where the competition like HP, Toshiba, Asus or Acer sells twice as much specced notebooks for half price.
Quality maybe its Sony or it was. But the price was really disgusting.
Vaio had some fantastic laptops for work back in the day... About ten years ago. I hope they come back with some real bangers.
Their logo was the best in the business by the way. I love the design of the waveform digital combination. Fuken inspired. VAIO.
Who bought vaio? Seems a bad time to enter the laptop market unless they already have factory contracts.
I almost misread Viao as Vivo. I dont thin the brand is going to do much here or anywhere for that mater. There's already enough premium offerings from Lenovo, Asus, Huawei, Xiaomi, Apple etc. They should read the writing on the wall and save some marketing cost and skip this market.
I'm still using vaio laptop in 2020 for coding. It heats up a little bit but performance is still to notch. So is the build quality.

Vaio has been in the USA and Japanese markets couple of years now. They already have light but nice laptop selection.
In a way flipkart is like HMD, bringing back brands from the past and selling the nostalgia
I thought he was the mind behind jip, olympus' new partner?
OwnFix3, 12 Dec 2020Chinese trash renamed. Oh Flipkart, bring those Sony mobile from Japan instead. If you read the article properly you'd know that Flipkart is an Indian company, not Chinese. They bought the Vaio branding from Sony years ago.
It was sold to a japanese company.
Vaio makes new laptops every year.
There are many good brands. So no need.
