I just don't fully understand this case with Wistron & Contractors.
My reading of the article: Wistron HAD paid the contractors. Contractors did NOT pay the employees.
Why is the Indian government asking Wistron to pay directly again?

Poor labour law with multiple loopholes attacts exploitation
Such incidents should not be justified but on the other side they bring attention of government and giants like apple towards such issues
This incident will not only prevent future disputes but also ensure better prevention of labour rights
This is like smaller loss for greater good

Its aopen secret that employees work more than 15 hours and are shadow employees (not on payroll of any company) they are just shoved in at the gate and paid daily/weekly wages from a middle man who rounds them up. (My far off poor relative worked there). Labour dept knows it but too lazy to visit the factories. Why this same happens in the big-4 companies. Unless one if the big-4 untouchables is punished, they is no hope. It is not problem if poor country, It is common to developed world ie Lazy govt officials

                                1. Big Companies want super high profits , so they use contract workers.

                                2. Contractors take money from Big companies, but give little money to workers, poor workers are forced to work for that small money , if one deny , someone else will work. so less saving, there should be strict law for underpayment and delay in payment, but who cares about poor workers heh ???? Its Adni n Ambni rule!!!

                                3. Workers should protest peacefully, rioting and stealing is very huge mistake, its like killing the golden egg laying Goose.

***these days in India , peaceful protest is now a crime by Right Wing party in power, they like violence and fear politics.

What has happened is unfortunate. There are other ways to protest else investors may rethink coming to India. Mostly likely this was staged. Nothing comes out of vandalism except loss to all.

This act is shaming us the Indians. Govt should punish rioters and looters and recover entire cost. Vested interest should be caught. Expecting Govt to take swift action. Shockingly TVs in Karnataka today telecasting live Legislative Council the behaviour of MLCs. I shut my mouth.
