YUKI93, 16 Dec 2020Can't really see the whole point of this chipset when the 675 itself has been superseded ... moreThe 710 was not a replacement for the the 675. the 675 actually has faster 460 cores instead of the 360 in the 710. It was just an alternative to the 670, the actual predecessor to the 710.
People were complaining "some companies" keep using old socs, so qualcomm found a solutionfor them, same old chip set with a brand new name, win win situation.
Qualcomm seems being complacent lately. Not giving more what people really wanted in a midrange chipset. Tsk... Better learn form Intel’s experience - that’s why AMD already overtook them recently with their new offerings. Don’t belittle your competition, tech is moving so fast they can catch up in a blink of an eye.

Can't really see the whole point of this chipset when the 675 itself has been superseded by the 700 series chipset. Let's not forget that the 710 was the replacement for the 675.
AnonD-763241, 16 Dec 2020Easy guess....this is for nokia 6.3.....Way too powerful for them
Anonymous, 15 Dec 2020Who needs a refresh of a 2 year old chip produced on an outdated fabrication process? Maybe samsung. To fill up the warehouses that used to contain massive amounts of Exynos 9611.
dbjungle, 15 Dec 2020Every manufacturer that keeps pushing out Snapdragon 665 phones. The 670 and 675 don't a... moreManufacturers are already switching to SD662 or SD460 from SD665.
I think cost hindered the adoption of SD 670/675 . They are almost two years old and OEMs can opt for SD720 instead. SD 678 will also face similar problem. This is in asian markets.
Other markets might see some SD 678 devices if there is a bigger price gap between 600 and 700 series devices.
Pricing is also major obstacle in the adoption of SD 768.
Anonymous, 16 Dec 2020for those developing country? as if people from those countries do not travel around and will ... moreOh common, 5G right now is just a gimmick, just sucks more battery life, without any real benefits, or you're downloading 4k videos on the go? Maybe in a couple of years it will make sense but now..

Anonymous, 16 Dec 2020for those developing country? as if people from those countries do not travel around and will ... morePeople who travel abroad can abroad top of the line flagship phones with powerful 5G processors.
e.g. note 20ultra with exynos 990 has 5g n all iPhone 12series have next gen network.
We need competition on android world...for now QUalcomm is the only one on top for few years
If it's budget 5G processor we have been accepted but it's still stuck on 4G
So, Almost useless processor
Anonymous, 15 Dec 2020Who needs a refresh of a 2 year old chip produced on an outdated fabrication process? Agreed, it's quite ludicrous
