Anonymous, 17 Dec 2020Why can't they offer OS updates for 5 or more years and leave it up to the user to decide... moreThey actually can, but that will hurt their sales. Android manufactures have tons of variety products line up to sell, low-mid-high-ultimate. Devs also need to adjust and tweak for the different chip/hardware to work best, having to update all of those devices with 5 years of service would pain them.
Apple only sells high end products like 5 devices/year, also all of them always have the same chip! making them easier to work with.

Samsung announced they are going to do the same thing with s20 series and even Galaxy A51. Updating for 3 years. Is this the same thing or they will update snap888 phones for four years?

I don't think manufacturers adapt it but if it happens its good thing for customers..

IOS just passes off old Android features as new innovations.

This, of course, depends on the manufacturers, but for devices with SD888, a flagship, it should comes naturally. Probably easier for devices with stock or near stock Android.

Nobody cares about latest updates on Android.
The 5 year update system of iOS is a giant scccam. You get latest features 5 years late on an average. Android is light years ahead of iOS in terms of functionality, customizability, security and ease of use. Android from 5 years back can do things current iPhone can't.

iOS 14 finally got an app drawer and widgets, Lol these are things that existed on Android a decade back.

Plus with every subsequent update, your battery and cpu are deliberately slowed down by Apple (Yes, they are paying fines for this malpractice) whereby one is forced to upgrade after a few years.

Yessss finally. Android flagships should have at least 3-4 years OS updates since it costs so much now, even more than iPhones sometimes.

But oem should also allow give to their sd888 phones. There it is the point.

                                Oneplus will do that.
