Even if vivo partner up with Zeiss, it isn't going to change anything unless Vivo improve their software image processing. Just like with Huawei, they just play hardware and versatility. Not quality. P40 Pro is great, but Mate 20 Pro, P30 Pro, P20 Pro each has poor image quality (oversaturated colours, watercoloury effect, loss of detail, beautification, weird colours, etc). Vivo's X50 Pro is good, but not as awesome as they advertised. Why? Less impressive image processing. They have oversaturated colours, watercoloury effects, night mode is fine, but detail is loss. The ultrawide only 8 MP means soft UW shots and macro shots. 2x telephoto and 5x telephoto basically useless in lowlight thanks to not having an night mode. Selfie also too bright, loss of detail, and too much beauty even when turned off. Remember when Huawei has very bad selfies? Now their selfies are the best. Vivo just needs to folllow google, apple, and Huawei's current path of imaging. Don't just brag too much about the hardware, make the software great too. Don't be like the s20 ultra.

Vivo should :
1. Improve their software image processing
2. Improve their selfie cameras
3. Add stabilization and 4k60fps to the front cameras
4. Tone down their colours
5. Remove beauty effect completely when turned off
6. Activate Night mode on all of the lense
7. Improve your video quality
8. Improve colour rendering, white balance, and consistency (don't be like huawei which has weird colours)
9. Keep up the good work like the X50 Pro, and improve ur software and the quality of the other lenses. Since the UW and 2x Tele and the 5x Tele are not that good in lowlight.

Sony has the T*.
Vivo is gonna have T*.
HMD does not.

Does it mean it is just naming rights like the chinese lenses on Huawei labeled as Leica?

This is not good for HMD Global. Their claim to Zeiss exclusivity is all but toast now. Let's see how long they last.
