Plastic allows for more durable, not less durable phones! When you drop it, the plastic will flex and absorb some of the impact. But metal will take that impact and transfer it straight to the glass.

Sony 1ii has 7,2cm, like Z5.
Samsung S20 has 7,37cm, it's wider than S7 Edge.

I do not understand how people praise that design. Maybe Sony fanboys, who will praise just about anything from Sony. Because is "so different".
The problem with smartphones dimensions wasn't necessarily the width. More important are the length and thickness. Make a longer smartphone it will be even worse feeling, when you care it in your pocket.

By the way, hole and notch makes oled more expensive to make.

I don't like the looooong narrow screens, it's a weird trend. Most media, like photos, videos, documents, comics, etc. aren't really made for these kind of aspect ratios.

I want to wake up in a world where no edge panels exist. I mean this is taking too long, just drop them already. Why does it take the smartphone industry sooo long to stop releasing edge panels since it's obvious they are aware from consumer feedback that the trend is long dead? We don't want your curved panels, end of story.

I'd say notches, but then again when I think of it, there's only one brand that still comes with a huge unibrow notch and that is Apple, the rest moved on to smaller waterdrop notches or punch hole cameras. So I voted for the lack of smaller flagship phones.
