Raffel, 27 Dec 2020Does anyone know what are the phones in the six picture. The one with 4 phones on top of each otherAll 4 colours of the 2019 Sony Xperia 1
What is it with batteries? What is so difficult with charging overnight? That is 8 hours. No need for a battery-damaging fast charger.
Just fit bigger batteries, reducing the cost of the charging technology.
And make them easier to replace so the phone lasts longer.
Bent edge screens are a curse.
Longer and narrower screens are a curse. Journalists berated long phones due to chins and foreheads making the phone too tall, but 21:9 screens are even more stupidly long.
Anyone who uses full screen photos should realise that all this does is crop the top and bottom of a 4:3 ratio full sensor photo. It gains nothing. It looks wider but is no different.
Stick-out camera modules are damaging to pockets.
Glass backs are too easily cracked.
So we need a case to protect the cameras and the glass; so there is no earthly reason not to have a plastic back!
The essence of this sentence is not what it says but the false conjunction included...
* "No small affordable smartphones"
The real problem is that less huge devices that can be used fully with one hand by most people are generally only made in 'affordable' variants and not as 'flagships'.
With for many years Sony being almost the sole exception. Though aPple seem to finally try to revert this silly trend with their 2020 line

The 2mp macro cameras needs to go
All these trends are awful but customers allow them to continue by buying the products that have (or don't have) those features.
The only way things change in a retail environment is by sales numbers, vote with your wallet.
When only Samsung shipped a curved display, the infamous Galaxy S6 Edge it sold so well everybody did it - that's how it works and that's why we now have curved, punch holed, no SD card, no headphone jack, novelty cameras, sealed battery, lower quality unexciting phones.
The baddest is front camera! Ruins the screen !
Very Bad is courved display wtih rounded corners! Horrible !!!
Very Bad is the roud corners phone, dildo like...
in addition to most of these: curved screen, punch hole/pill shape cut out for front cameras, bloatware,
Bigger and bigger phones screen is the one that i hate other than a notch, very not minimalistic
notch, huge screens, the phone little over a year old and already left marks in my jeans pocket area. the size of the phones is really a problem I don't know why people still want bigger.
You forgot to add curved screens....

Sometimes cheap phones have more functionality than expensive phones (3.5mm jack, microsd card slot, ir blaster etc). So why do people insist on buying more expensive phones?
Anonymous, 27 Dec 2020So do you want a pop up camera or a top Bezel?Top bezel so along with a decent screen /camera /proximity sensor/LED notification light i can also hold the phone in landscape mode & type.
Anonymous, 27 Dec 2020So, more people are bothered about presence of useless cameras which do not impact your usage ... morethose useless lens cost you money and you paid for it
Where are square display phones, for video
I despise companies that market a “48MP Quad Camera” when really there’s one usable camera; 48MP 2/0” sensor, accompanied by an 8MP ultra wide (subpar resolution for ultra wide), 2MP depth sensing and 2MP macro.
Ski5i, 27 Dec 2020Hate to say it but unfortunately, 2021 will follow foot steps of Apple, dropping accessories o... moreIn 2021, it would mostly just be LG and Sony that are going to repent to following the stupid trends that Apple always starts. Much like how they're the only options to keep the headphone jack on premium flagship phones alive, I certainly believe that they won't remove the chargers from the box either.
Sadly, people always underestimate them and ignore their efforts for giving users the important things that they really need in a smartphone.
someone123, 27 Dec 2020Another clickbait article but this time I'm fine with it. It seems like the manufacturers... moreThey are talking about a plastic chassis not a plastic back.
A phone can have a plastic back while still having a metal chassis (e.g. Galaxy Note 4, Moto X Force). Having a plastic chassis makes the phone more fragile so it's not ideal for expensive flagships.
