It's like asking yourself why people buy samsung A series phones when the s20 ultra is so great. Totally different price ranges, bro. I did have a ChaCha and loved it at the time, not necessarily for the social media features.

Sony Ericsson also used a Facebook ish type of skin over for the Xperia X10. Timescape. Great idea but was poorly executed and killed the phones resources....

Haha,this was an article filled with terrible phones.I remember owning a Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 when the HTC ChaCha arrived,I could not believe anyone would buy any of these social media phones when great phones like iPhone 4,Galaxy S2,Htc sensation etc...were around.

Never had any problems with Facebook. But Instagram is big headache. It doesn't let me to follow people anymore. And so many limits. Really annoying.

I used the ChaCha back in the day. I didn't care about FB, but was interested in the hardware keyboard, which was starting to become rare in those days. It was a decent phone overall. The keyboard in particular was good to type on.
These days you can't find any new phone with a hardware keyboard. Unfortunate.

I'm glad these failed, I like to think more people caught on and in less than a decade, here we are... the social network is falling flat.

htc chacha design and other htc phones during that time were incredible
it's a shame we came to an era where all phones have to look the same
it's not the companies though, it's the people that refuse anything that is different looking anyway

xperia miro was also a phone made for social media, bit on the software side... timescape, embedded social media contacts to local contacts, contact photos synched to social media display pictures... the led strip lights for social media notifications, out of the box not for ordinary notifications like calls and texts...

Although I liked the HTC ChaCha I wouldn't get this just because of Facebook.

Nokia actually released some phones with Facebook dedicated button and WhatsApp dedicated button. I think these phones were part of the Nokia Asha family.
