Mojojojo24, 18 Dec 2020Now can't wait to see a14 vs sd 888 comparisons
*grabs popcorn*Yeah, let's compare a chip from 2020 against another chip made to be used in 2021.
We can even ignore A14 is same age as 865+.
I'm not an expert so I'm asking what is difference between AnaTuTu and Gekbench testing platforms. On antutu sd chip sets are always considerably better than apple's bionic but on geekbench is viceverca opposite, bionic chip sets are considerably better.

At this point, I'm pretty sure most flagship purchasers would rather have greater battery life than extra speed. Maybe some gaming phones would push the envelope more on clock speed (presumably there'll be an 888+ with that use case in mind for mid-2021, maybe launched with the ROG Phone 4). But the 865 is quick enough still and so the 888 could and should be using its 5nm process for efficiency wins.
Everybody has to understand the A78 cores and 5nm fab offer great efficiency gains, clearly Qualcomm could've upped the clock speeds improving performance, but the 865 was even a great performer, not much need for more speed.
I am glad to see that Qualcomm is also paying attention to efficiency as opposed to outright speed.
fox, 18 Dec 2020Performance on phones yeah right anything to match apple m1 on. Laptops?yes its called AMD
fox, 18 Dec 2020Performance on phones yeah right anything to match apple m1 on. Laptops?Won't be possible for as long as Apple holds their own license to prevent others from manufacturing a chipset with CPU cores as big or even bigger than what Apple uses.
The incredible part here is that Qualcomm and others are able to pull off this close level of performance with CPU cores that's literally half the size of what Apple uses.
just OK perfomance.
not expecting any improvements until ARM V9 and 32 bit support drop in 2022.
decent improvements from previous gen imo ... also sure manufacturers will extract bit more performance than this test bench device
fox, 18 Dec 2020Performance on phones yeah right anything to match apple m1 on. Laptops?*ehem*
what happened to A14? u guys usually gloating the Geekbench score? Why not now?
[deleted post]next year: iphone 13 comes with MANUAL BOOK out of the box! No cable to further reduce carbon emission from cable manufacturing; still, if u need one, it could be yours for only 19.99$ !
next next year: iphone 14 can be bought only on iBox or Apple virtual store, to minimize environmental hazard from the production of iphone's box. In case you need one, u could book one from iBox near u only for 99.99$ ! You could also get extra 'Apple' stickers, SIM ejector, IMEI sticker, & manual book for additional 19.99$ !
so i will stick with my sd 865 device
Meanwhile bionic a14 400k benchmark score on 2nd test from 500k😂😂
Performance on phones yeah right anything to match apple m1 on. Laptops?
Excellent Chips
