Regarding playing a video, one can hide ... moreyes but there is a lot of videos on youtube which you can scratch to full size and watch with full screen without any problems and I often do it even if it cuts some part of the screen. If you watch anything your goal is to immerse better. You have no immersion when you have a notch or floating notch aka punch hole.

Regarding playing a video, one can hide it easily as most videos are 16:9 and that area is covered by black bars most of the time.

There is no usage of the screen that is cut off and even if you watch a youtube and it only cut's of hole from punch hole still it looks awful! I tried and I can not focus on the screen I focus on that black censured hole. That is why until good implementation of under screen camera, pop up camera is the best solution. #OnePlus7Pro
