Sony's skin is just as stock and uses all of the same default apps. OnePlus used to but have started to move away.

Anonymous, 02 Jan 2021The best smartphones of 2020, in my opinion: pixel 4a, 4a 5G, and pixel 5. The very best! You clearly didn't own any of those if you say so

After waiting for 2 years to get a replacement to the PIXEL 2 .... After realizing that Google won't release the PIXEL 5 in Singapore ... Until this day atleast ..... I have moved back to Apple 12Pro Max now and almost set to switch off this device for the last time. Sad ... But .. it is not fine with me that I was forced to choose a lower end 4a device. Thanks and goodbye PIXEL.

To say that 4a is a loser definitely a weird choice. Yes it's not the most advance smartphone and it could potentially cost less but it is almost unique device in an android market. 4a 5G is definitely not very interesting for me but I see it being a good offer for some people with nice balance. Pixel 5 though is in odd place, so much so it competes with 4a in some categories which is half the price.

Han Sum, 02 Jan 2021I am still using a Pixel 2XL and am fairly happy with it; but i suspect that I must upgrade so... moreIf you're looking for value for money, I'd recommend looking at OnePlus. They're Oxygen OS Android skin is very similar to stock android with some added benefits, and their cameras don't over process images to smooth them and make the quality look better.
Ultimately, I would recommend a Pixel phone, but if you find them over priced for the experience you gain, I think OnePlus make fabulous phones for the price you pay.
It seems to be the case that, when you start adding not so obvious features to smartphones such as a display benefit or software feature, the price to performance ratio sky rockets. In reality, OnePlus are very honest about their phone prices and make a large variety of phones without trying to sneakily cut corners to keep price down.

For me the Pixel 4a is a winner. Lightweight, intelligent, and small. The overall experience, compared with the previous huge bricks, is brilliant. A five-star cellphone.

Wireless charging is the standard for the market nowadays and those who already have a flagship device with this technology (and all the accessories) will not go back in time and get a phone without it.

If you think about a device to stay with it for a couple of years, you will not get a device that is not 5G capable, as you will be outdated soon.

Yeah, I think the 4a is a great phone, so in this respect no loser. But the avalability is still below par in some countries - you have to go through middlemen and of course you can't get it for the 340 euros anymore. The price will be much higher, if you can get it at all.
