A lot of benchmark tastings can easily be fooled by lines of code, hidden in plain sight.
That way, performance and greatly affect battery and long term SoC life and performance.
My post is not regarding Samsung or the Exynos 2100. But with regard to all Benchmark Testing and why Benchmark Testing must be done, comparing it with every day usage, heat generation testing, and battery life. If the performance isn't artificially high, and dangerously so, then the SoCs have been tested for their real performance.
Which is possible ONLY when 2 exact same devices are tested. One while performing various every day tasks, some grueling ones using the performance cores too, and some solely testing Benchmarks. The difference between artificial line of code generated performance and real performance will be easily detected.
EVERYONE is the Industry probably cheats. Some just cheat a little better than the others. Without getting caught. I am guessing some even pay cheating detectors to ensure that they don't get caught.

The actual performance should be noticeable in the Quality of Photo and Video being captured, during Intensive Gaming, and also while doing tests like photo and video editing. For merely surfing or basic typing or reviving calls then phones are almost in hibernation mode by comparison.

Anonymous, 23 Dec 2020Bionic was exposed to be a gimmick long back Just like Apple's M1 right? Totally just a gimmick and not a showcase that Apple currently (and has for quite few years now) has one of the best chip designers in the world and make chips with insane compute power. That paired with software on top specifically connected to the hardware they are using will always deliver superior performance whether you fanboys will admit it or not.

Anonymous, 23 Dec 2020So Apple is still 'status over functionality'?
I guess that business motto has stuc... moreI think it's for convenience. If you're a programmer and prefer full hardware compatibility and no hassle of installation, you'll go with a Mac. But a laptop with Linux installed can do everything a Mac can do and even more, you just have to set it up. If you earn well, the extra $400-$500 won't matter to you and will go with a Mac which works out of the box. The hardware is solid and there are no hardware flaws (expect the butterfly keyboard found in previous gen). Also it's good for designers, and you get the best of Windows and Linux. Though windows is catching up, it's still not there. So it's not just status symbol but also the convenience, but that convenience comes at a price. It depends on whether you're willing to pay extra for that convenience. I personally won't buy a Mac since I'm not someone who'd use premium Video / Photo Editing apps, and I can set up everything by myself, and fix the software glitches if they come. For me it's fun, but for others it's inconvenience, and that's how apple is able to sell a device with an inferior OS (like iPadOS, which is supposed to be a desktop replacement but it's worse than ChromeOS in that aspect). MacOS is good, but good in the sense that developers are willing to make Apps for it. Remove that and it become inferior to Linux. Also, you can't game on Mac.
If some company makes a tablet with flagship specs, and sells it with ChromeOS instead of Android, it automatically becomes the best tablet in the market. Samsung is close, but they chose Android on their flagship tablet, which sucks and feels like a large Android phone.

A14 is the king of speed. Don’t see the unofficial speed tests and come to conclusion, just see how Iphone 12 came out in speed, battery and drop tests as their tests are more reliable than any other youtubers.
Believe me apple’s software maybe be difficult, not more customisable but they know how to maintain privacy, speed, safe.

Also "real world performance". Yeah, it's literally whatever you want to imagine it is and you measure it with unit of "feels per second". You feel that Snapdragon is faster. And that's that. You people are hilarious. Also I've never seen anything that's best of the best in benchmarks and the worst in real use. Benchmarks are just theoretical maximum compute throughput a certain chip can do. Real performance deviates a bit up or down, but is essentially just that, compute throughput. That especially applies to CPU cores which is what most people care about. It's different with graphics where Tflops don't necessarily define the actual performance. But none of the tests of chipsets poke that and neither most people even care when it comes to "phone performance" But whatever lmao, facts don't matter, Snapdragon is 5000 feels per second faster than any Bionic chips.

I guess that business motto has stuck with them from the beginning.
Only after testing thoroughly each CPU the results can be compared. Looking back, Samsung made many claims and still managed to screw it up. Battery will be the most important factor because looking back just few models, same device, the one powered by Snapdragon always came on top..by a lot. Heating is also an issue here as Exynos tend to overheat more than their rival. And the cherry on top, when it comes to 2100 CPU, how come they did not managed to put an FM module inside? Or are they not allowed to?
Anonymous, 23 Dec 2020Obviously, you haven't used an M1 powered device yet. I am writing this message on my M1 ... moreYou obviously haven't tried Windows XP. You'd be blown away.

How come you put the A14 ahead of Exynos 9000, Snapdragon 888?
AnonD-558092, 23 Dec 2020That's still hundreds of millions above the amount of people that care or will ever read ... moreWell it's common knowledge that Windows has the largest share when it comes to PC, with Windows 10 enjoying roughly 60% share, windows 7 around 7% share and windows 8/8.1 having 3% share. MacOS has 12% share, Android having 10% share and iOS 2% share, and Linux having 5% share. The remaining 1% is for other OS, with Chrome OS having 0.4% share and Windows XP 0.1%. Now the stats may vary depending on the parameters. But think about it, the current gen Macbook Air starts at $999, which is the cheapest Laptop offered by Apple. I similarly speced Windows Laptop costs roughly $600. If you look around you, you'll find more people own a Windows laptop (unless you're rich and have rich friends).
