Go watch millions of speed tests of last year's A13 which scores 1500 points in Single core yet loses terribly to Snapdragon 865 with single core score of 900. How can a phone which is twice as powerful on paper lose in real world tests?
GeekBench doesn't measure the performance of other peripherals like storage and other things, thereby it isn't a compound benchmark, just a benchmark which gives you therotical cpu power which fails to live up in the real world. Hence, it is not a true representation of how the device works in real life.
Your GeekBench Champion A14 starts to sweat and thermal throttle after 10 min when pushed with a heavy load, which afcourse the Benchmark will never tell you but real world usage will.

I guess we'll know if google makes their own socs.

With iOS 14.xx they fixed certain issues.
It still thermal throttles in heavy games though.

Except no one really cares if it is a bit more powerful on paper because as shown only this year, Samsung simply can't cobble together a CPU that doesn't overheat doing even the most lightweight tasks.

iPhones and iPads beat the Intel of mobiles (Qualcomm) by a mile in cpu intensive tasks (like video encoding) for years.
It is head scratching that androids love monopolies. I thought they were all for choice, yet you only have one chipmaker. Why is that? It is not as if the architecture can't give more, Apple is bone crushing for years. Where is the competitors?
Used to be the case that all of Texas Instruments (omap), nVidia (tegra), Mediatek and Samsung were part of the space and often outperforming qualcomm. Where did they all go? Maybe dirty tactics with modems put qualcomm (a know patent troll, much like Intel in desktops) at the top instead of engineering chops?
If yes. What happened? I thought you, androids, support competition. Why is the worst performer of all survived and good chipmakers died? And if so why do you support them?
