There are so many components in the android world, and so many brands, and so many chip-making brands, that it would take forever to optimize them as good as apple. While apple works on a single chip per year for their own os (which also helps a lot), here at google you have 100 chips per year, and you need to give equal attention to each of them

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad processor. It's just the fact that Apple will always be Apple. Lie, lie, lie. Literally the T**** of tech. It has to be the greatest, even when it clearly isn't.

Honestly, I don't even care about these numbers because they're close enough for me. What I do care is efficiency and effect on battery life. If two equivalent Samsung devices come out, one with 2100 and one with the 888....but the Exynos drains 10 - 15% more in comparable use, then I'd take the extra efficiency over performance. If it's 1 - 2% difference, than I'd take the 2100.

It's like calling a car the "Fast", and then you end up with cars that are fast but not Fast. However, Apple never wrote or mentionned HBM in their materials. Just "high bandwidth" or "high performance unified memory". Not HBM
There are other advantages to getting the memory on-die, like lower latency. I/O interconnect was and remains a huge bottleneck in computing today. This is one of the reasons why processor cache is also on-die and not on the motherboard. It's way faster and way more efficient
Besides, LPDDR4X is just a type of memory. If Apple can get better performance out of it, good on them.

Framing LPDDR4X as HBM is shame, though.

It could most likely have been achieved exactly the same performance with off die LPDDR4x memory, at a minor power cost, as that write-up clearly states it's running at standard speed. AMD HBM2 has more that four times the bandwidth of Apple's faux HBM.

More powerful, but, more efficient?
Remember that the cores in the 2100 are clocked higher than the 888 ones, especially in the large X1 core. We also have to take into account the GPU. Mali GPUs don't have exactly a good history against Adreno GPUs.

Both are not real in my opinion Exynos score isn't confirmed and Snapdragon's score is from reference device which always performed better compare to real products

iOS..Never..Again, 22 Dec 2020Yet the A13 gets beaten badly by Snapdragon 865 based budget flagships. Except... it doesn't. There are literally benchmark screenshots of both on internet lmao. A13 scores around 5450/13750 where 865 scores around 4150/12950. Tests were posted just 2 months apart between July and September back in 2019 using same Geekbench test.
