anything that tries to copy android will fail, for the simple reason that android is free and it has become pretty stable after years of evolution so there shouldn't be a need to spend loads of money in order to make a copy of it without the apps, that's why bada failed even through it had good hardware, i recall people buying bada devices and just installing android on them
Whoever buys a new phone should consider which phone is really getting all the support and hype and that is either iOS or android.. even in android u should consider getting what is really advertised and well selling and that would be either galaxy s3 or HTC Onex or maybe the galaxy nexus.. Cruz that's how a company keeps supporting that.. n I don't blame Samsung for cutting off bada.. not profitable and it was the best for them.. n to their customers.. get a galaxy s3 or don't.. either way u won't be in a worse situation. Like this
Omar Mohamed, 22 Aug 2012Samsung means Android. As Apple means iOS. And Nokia Means WP8. If any one will buy a BAD... moreyou are the only one who stuck on Bada 1.0. Go to XDA and find a custom firmware. Best regards
Thx Samsung for screwing us all (the Samsung Wave users). Awesome phone, idiotic software and lazy developer.
Anyone stupid enough to buy a Tizen powered phone should understand that i wouldn't touch it with a 50m long pole until it proves itself to be a mature OS with proper support and well planned future. Because if it doesn't, users will use this junk in agony for two years like we did Bada, then in a rage of all rages sell the phone way below price or just toss it in the bin and buy Android/Windows Phone powered phone and live happily ever after.
I don't care what they say, go with proven options like Android, Windows Phone or iOS. Unless you have shitloads of money and you don't care. Then go for it. I'll stick with Android just to be safe...
Anonymous, 22 Aug 2012well BADA outsells windows phone. they dont even push it, i am pretty sure if they should it w... moreNo, it's not outselling Windows Phone anymore. Last time I checked they were on par
I wish, next Tizen OS is much more/all most better and easy... what: iOS,(Meego),Windows Phone and (Android)!!!.
Omar Mohamed, 22 Aug 2012Samsung means Android. As Apple means iOS. And Nokia Means WP8. If any one will buy a BAD... moresamsung does not mean Android. There is no flagship device manufacturer for android like there is for iPhone and windowsphone. only Android's vanilla OS, which is Google's product.
GreekGeek, 22 Aug 2012Samsung Could buy WebOS or Even Meegobro tizen is meego .....
well BADA outsells windows phone. they dont even push it, i am pretty sure if they should it would double windows phone sales
Anoop, 22 Aug 2012What about people who have purchased Bada phones already. Do we get upgraded to Tizen?Keep dreaming, even the first Wave generation received bada 2.
Ooohhh!!! Another Samung O.S. again!!! Hands app!!!!!
It's Tizen, it's for you, it's from Samsung Mobile!!!
Now, with 200% of more bugs and 400% less updates!!!!!
Do you remember LiMo devices?
Do you remember bada devices?
O.S. with bugs, bugs and more bugs, and forever, to the eternity.
Not upgrades, and not updates to correct the bugs, or worst than original firmwares.
Do not waste your money in a Samsung's upgradable device.
Go to for a Nexus or a Xperia.
Samsung means Android.
As Apple means iOS.
And Nokia Means WP8.
If any one will buy a BADA or Tizen phone then he will be stupid.
I have wave 1 and till now didn`t get BAda 2.0 update in middle East, However, most of the apps on its store requires it.
So now I don`t have neither the software nor the apps.
Stuppidness...
samsung pushes back tizen because they will wait first for the release of iphone 5 & nokia wp8 device, copy some features from the 2 phonemakers & integrate those to tizen.. Well,, no wonder,, samsung is famous for that. whats new with it? samsung only imitate & replicate, thats their expertise! they never innovate..
Unless you need lots of apps. I would still go for a Bada phone over Android. Bada 2.0 just works well, and without any Microsoft Android tax. My Wave Y in the UK is cheaper than many non-smart phones, and is so well built, and unlikely to attract a virus, that even if there are no more Bada phones, it will give good service for a very long time.

Bada is a great OS, and has been written off several times in the past, its a same if sales are dented by pessimistic stories.
Tizen? How good is Samsung describe now like last time describe how good is BADA, after a few year the same message will post out something like this: Samsung planned to phase out its homegrown smartphone platform, Tizen, and replace it with XXXX... speechless!
GreekGeek, 22 Aug 2012Samsung Could buy WebOS or Even MeegoSammy can't buy MeeGo now as it is now being owned and developed by Jolla Mobile (http://twitter.com/JollaMobile ) Watch out for new phones this year from Jolla. They already have a distribution agreement with largest telecom company in China.
Samsung without Android will fail so badly
well done samsung. about to lose all credability with another naff os. bada fail, tizen fail. why not stick with what people want. ANDROID!!.
Tizen will be good for sammy
Marco, 22 Aug 2012Maemo already got a bit messed up when it merged with Moblin to become MeeGo. Now Tizen is a m... moreEven thought i agree with what you have written.i have to say they didnt as such "fail", i still have my N900 and use it the parents killed them!
not enough advertising/support, luckily the community are excellent!
I currently use BB 9800 and iPh 4S and i still dont think they have anything on the N900 -multitasking/ feel of the OS or just the fact if i wanna run my N64 emulator i can overclock my N900 to run @ 1Ghz for an hr or 2 and link to my TV for classic goldeneye or mario kart :)
That kind of OS on modern day specs would kill imo which is why i will try it when its released :)
