There is plenty of cheap... moreWell, I am using the microSD card in Galaxy Note 10+ and I think it is absolutely crucial for me because 1) cloud storage is not for everybody (think of privacy and security) 2) cloud storage cost money every month, microSD cost one time.

With 256GB on a phone, who needs to pay for a cloud storage service or have several accounts on different platforms just to get a free service? Anyway, who still uses a MicroSD card in this age and time? 32GB phone owners? 64GB? I always store watched videos on a laptop once downloaded on a phone, on-the-go. SD card on a phone, hilarious. These things died with 32GB phones. Anyway, for those who still use these slow memory cards, there is a host of budget options for you. Flagship and upper midrange phones actually don't need this addition, it's pointless. How does one buy a $700+ phone and own zero computers?

SD in a mobile phone is the greatest thing ever. I can cheaply expand my storage, backup and transfer the existing data to new phone. If you have tried to transfer files out from your mobile thru USB to your PC, even with USB3.0, it is slow as hell

There is plenty of cheap... moreNot everyone has fast access to the internet, and not everyone wants their photos/videos on the cloud.
Plus having a removable card means if your phone dies (for whatever reason) you always have access to the content of the card

It takes minutes to upload and download it from the cloud and it's not a great idea if you use your mobile data.

There is plenty of cheap... moreThere is more and more cloud service, but less profitable than an SD card because not all free, not all unlimited, no internet everywhere and hackers lurking. the impression of owning nothing. While a simple SD card you are in control of your content when and where you want, the advantage of using it on other devices easily and quickly

There is plenty of cheap... moreI use my S20 Ultra's SD card slot often for transferring my DSLR images over to my phone. Much faster than doing it via wireless and I don't use a PC. I specifically wouldn't purchase a phone that doesn't have an SD card slot.

So I never really pick, "Plus or Ultra models," and I feel like Samsung doesn't care about the S21 or S21 Plus at all, 1080x2400 display, no microSD card, and near the same performance, 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤 I see how it is Samsung.

There is plenty of cheap... morecheap cloud spaces will never replace sd cards 1. because you pay for 250gb sd card for 40usd for life!
2. You can always use your data offline

that's why it's important for me to have a sd card

SD cards are easy thing.
Remove from one phone, have everything on the other phone in seconds. No internet required.
Not all people know how to do backup, use cloud services etc ...
They just leave stuff in the card.

Mobile Division has to obey other people above.
If they are told to remove jack, sd card and other, they have to. No choice.
In 2017, people from Sony Mobile were told to remove jack from xz2 because sales of wireless gear was already better than wired. It was no choice. They had to.
Same here with Samsung. They need to earn back money lost in 2020.
Cut some stuff and sell more accessories.
