Anonymous, 06 Jan 2021It will still be Samsung and Apple.15-20 years ago, Samsung was considered trash in the cellphone industry, and Apple didn't even had a product in that category. It was mostly Nokia, Sony-Ericsson & Motorola that ruled the cellphone marketplace. All of whom are struggling these days.

It's very ignorant of you to make such a bold claim. Truth is, nothing lasts forever. Nobody can reasonably predict what companies will be relevant in future & which ones will find their demise.

HTC is a shitty brand. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi fail after a while and they won't repair.

Well, it has been a while we heard from HTC. Perhaps they will start getting into European markets again.

Unusual for HTC models, generic in the whole market. This looks pretty much identical to any Android phones on date today.

HTC was almost at the top for the longest. Then it make phone with terrible numbering, instead of names; very confusing lineup; not changing designs to make them relevant, contemporary or fashionable anymore; and a few other issues.

And then google bought the majority of what mattered in the HTC Mobile R&D, and that was the end of HTC. Doubt whether any worthy engineers, designers or managers even exist in the smartphone division anymore, who are working for HTC.

Has anyone purchased an HTC phone in all of 2020? Their sales numbers have to be abysmal.

So far not very impressed unless this is some really cheap device like $150. If they think people will give them money because of the green back, they need to think again.

I guess we won't see another flagship from HTC anymore. Their flagships were a class apart from others.

Oh well, nothing lasts forever. A decade from now, who knows who'll be dominating the smartphone marketplace.

                        Htc is dead. + + + +
Last beautiful phone by them is HTC Butterfly with smooth sense 4+
Still awaiting the animations like that one.
That time they dropped it because of lags and ram but now with 12gb I guess they can reintroduce sense 4

KebabSLO, 06 Jan 2021Looks so cheap. Did they fire whole design team ?No, Google helped bankrupt htc, then bought up the bits they wanted at absolute rip off knock down price when htc had no choice, one of the major bits they bought was the entire design department, and yet you would belive it looking at the car crash that pixel devices turned out to be, crap devices with a decent camera module and lots of software nonsense.

I still realy like HTC devices, used them for over 15 years, all the way back to their original name of XDA and a tytn 1 !!!
HD2 is still the best device yet..
HTC are usualy very well made, and simply just work, nothing exciting for a few years now, my old desire 510 emergency phone still works 100%,still has the best mobile hot-spot I've ever come across on ANY device at any any price.
This one will suffer the same HTC problem, too high a price, folk dont mind paying a bit of a premium for decent quality, but HTC always over price themselves, they stick 30% on price, if they only put 15%, they would possibly sell more, if you look back at folks comments over the years, that's the single biggest complaint, too pricey...
I'll look at this one when more details leak, but will probably be put off buying one due to price.

I was hoping for a proper flagship to get them back in the market.
Rear looks interesting, glad it's not a piece of glass like everything else.
