Some people won't mind, some people will find it a deal-breaker.
But I personally feel that price and feature wise, the XM4 is better than the obsurdly priced Airpods Max's.
But I guess materials are that important to people...

If its sound quality is same as the $550 one, then it confirms that people paid $200 just for better materials. Pretty much it's only a luxury product.

-Just as good sound(although looking at frequency response graphs, the bass appears to be too high and far reaching of a low shelf.)

-Foldability
-The pinnacle of electronics innovation, An Off Button! (only apple could turn the off button from a necessity into an accessory).
-Better Comfort with less clamping force
