16:10 is better for web surfing, text editing and programming and it is light. Sadly it comes with intel. The M1 chips are the kings right now and the price is crazy low for that kind of power. If I would need a new laptop now, I would surely buy a Macbook.

AnonD-940827, 07 Jan 2021How about reading, instead of making your own titles? HmmLol, that anon is right. Gram is the name of LG's weight-focused laptop lineup. You are confused between the model lineup name and measurement unit.

Anonymous, 07 Jan 2021Any real user please tell me about it's durability and performance. I mean about previous... moreTyping on one right now; it's freaking amazing. Honestly. If you're wondering whether you should get one, the answer is yes. Absolutely (and I'm not even paid to say this, but LG really should pay me for how much I shill their products lol)

Durability is actually dumbfoundingly good, like to the point where I have actually thanked god for blessing its chassis with the physics-defying strength it has, following multiple drops from couch-armrest-height, including I think once onto hardwood floor. Each time I start cursing myself for leaving it where my toddler could've gotten it or whatever; begin the process of thinking how much money it'll be to replace and where I should start looking for as painlessly cheap of a deal on an identical model as possible, and walk over to it expecting the worst when I open it up. And every time I've been astonished that the screen is somehow still perfectly intact, just dirty as all hell like usual, since it's glossy & I'm lazy about cleaning it. Seriously it's baffling to me lol. But I guess it kind of makes sense funnily enough, owing to the feather-light weight - not as much mass to inflict damage when it does fall, so it sustains drops more like a microSD card than a life-size glass sculpture of Bill Clinton.

As far as performance I have zero complaints either. After apple's M1 launch I have been developing a lust for a potential ARM-based laptop in the future, but I know that won't be anytime soon; and like others already said, there's really no good reason not to have a Ryzen option in these things, considering how perfect they are otherwise - sticking with intel is like stuffing a beautiful thanksgiving turkey full of stale moldy bread. But those are just the latest & greatest nice-to-have's; for a traditional Intel-based ultrabook type PC I honestly can't say anything bad about this one. It's never struggled in any way with your standard computing type tasks, and is snappy enough to not ever feel like I'm waiting for apps to open or anything like that. Of course you won't be running Crysis but I did buy an external GPU for some light gaming through the thunderbolt port and the remastered Halo games ran at 30-60fps, so well enough (definitely bottlenecked by the CPU, btw. If you could mod the cooling on this thing, it'd do a lot better - these laptops have been shown to strangle their processors even beyond most other avg laptops with the same model CPU's, having only 1 fan and a tiny heatpipe etc)

I even have an older model (I think the original actually, 2017) with the i7-8565u, and I've never felt like I truly could use an upgrade yet. So take that for what it's worth

But no seriously, it's effing amazing. I wouldn't consider myself a fanboi but I swear I find myself asking myself how LG does it - my phone is coincidentally a V30 and I think they do have a knack for packing the perfect mix of hardware into a digestible tech package a large proportion of the time.

vrvly, 07 Jan 2021Actually a lot of content is created in 16:9 or so ratio, also for reading its great, at least... moreThe people who create movies and videos for a living don't have any troubles using 16:10 on a daily basis either. In fact, 16:9 is the best example of a "design by committee" standard, not the result of what was best suited for each content. The industry wanted a "jack of all trades" for the mass-market, the one screen for everything. The stone cold truth is that no one really wanted 16:9, they've just settled with it because the economics dictated that was the best business decision at the time.

An error I found in the article. 11th gen Intel on laptops is Tiger Lake not Rocket Lake which is for desktops. Rocket Lake hasn't launched yet and it's based on 14nm.
