AnonD-923722, 07 Jan 2021Just improve mainly your camera software processing. Improve your : 1. HDR and dynamic range... moreThen expect 1200 to 1300 price tag. People already complained about 1000 price tag on 8 Pro, people expect top high end specs with low prices. When OnePlus will add periscope it will be another 100 dollars/euros on top, same as having Leica.

Had it for few weeks and sold it. Bought P40 pro after that. Incredible camera, but no GMS. Sold it and bought OP 8 pro a week ago. Except screen issues with green tint, camera is second worst thing about it. Well, it seems that there isn't phone that has it all.

Dani2018, 07 Jan 2021For the next model oneplus 9pro probably will use leica lens . If this happens will beat many ... moreExcept the fact Leica does not make lenses for phones.
Just give their thumps up to the quality of the lenses Huawei buys from a chinese company.

Anonymous, 07 Jan 2021Also, quit the megapixel race and use 12MP sensors with large pixels instead of the stupid 48M... morePixel size matters when you need ISO higher than 6400.
Being 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 or 0.8 micron larger makes no difference.
            Sensor size is more important.
            Settings used matter even more.
Any phone already loses performance when ISO goes above 100.

Basically they'll try to improve the software. Oppo will pass on the rights to use whatever sensor's they've asked Sony to customize for them

                      - It is either stronger HDR or correct colours. Both do not come together. Pixel, iphone and galaxy are the evidence of this.
                      - phones should stop applying sharpening. No matter if they do it to fool costumers and compensate the fact cheap plastic lenses cant resolve even 5MP and photos have quality lower than pocket camera.
                      - It is either more details or more NR , both do not exist together.
                      - Increase colour contrast is a trick to make easier to see the few details phone camera can capture, google does it.

OP is not in position to use some of the expensive stuff. They do not sell enough to cover the costs. Periscope is one of them.

One does simply not buy oneplus for the camera.! But nice to see that they will focus more on the crappy camera, instead of the performance of the phone.

They should start this by removing those useless 2MP camera and give a best single camera module or at least increase 2MP to 8MP and also autofocus on macro camera is a must

The image processing still not my cup of tea, but yeah, with Leica involvement, pretty sure it will be better.

Oh boy, once Leica gets their name on this device the price will go up even more and cost just as much as iPhone, Samsung and top tier huawei's.
Good thing they are making comparable devices with comparable prices.

Good for them.. the Only reason I haven't buyed or recommended anyone OnePlus is because of those Cameras. Even midrange samsung devices have better image processing and colors compared to OnePlus Flagships. If they do manage to provide Flagship level camera quality just like iPhones or Samsung devices then my next device will surely be OnePlus!

One thing which I notice is that most of the android brands especially OnePlus and Xiaomi only focus on rear Cameras whereas their front camera get worse day by day.. they need to Focus on both front as well as back camera's! I have seen many real user reviews saying that the OnePlus 8 Pro's selfie camera is horrible especially indoors.. they better improve that as well.

Well, the OnePlus 8 Pro performed on par with S20+, so OnePlus has already made quite some improvements in that area. More improvements are always welcome though.
