Apple will build a car on the same manner as iPhones. Designed by Apple in USA build by Hyundai. So, will avoid Tesla's early days pain. Hyundai will only play the role of Foxconn.

These days Hyundai cars cost almost the same as German competitors and that's a bit annoying. They are slightly cheaper still, but not by much anymore. Price used to be a huge deal back then because quality was close, but at much lower price so it was a no brainer going with Hyundai. Now it's almost the same and many might not pick one because of it.

Then by all means pick an Alfa Romeo :P They make powerful engines and some of their cars do look really nice, but Alfa Romeo is like a dictionary definition of "Italian reliability". Also Kia is Hyundai and they share platforms and engines across their vehicles with slight bias on Hyundai side to be more serious where Kia is more on the sporty side. People mock Hyundai and Kia because of their crappy and mediocre cars from 80's and 90's, but after launch of first i30 in 2007, things changed dramatically and I could easily place Hyundai/Kia next to Toyota in terms of reliability. They make really good cars.

Here in South Africa you almost don't see them on the roads anymore. They were never known for their durability and no one wants them from the used car market (Meaning their value drops like hot cakes). Their new cars looks fine, but customers never forget bad service and bad reliabilty. Even ford is starting to struggle here after their kuga disaster and how they handled that

Their cars often give you alot more than german cars for a much lower price and the build quality and service is good too

Also, to improve your knowledge, Electric cars do not have an engine or gears, so they do not require any oil or oil change..
