But, with more and more brands fighting for a slice of the cake, how many compromises can Samsung ask from the customers?

Exynos 990 have mongoose core and a76. New exynos 2100 no custom core and 2 generation upgrade of arm core, x1 and a78
The minimum antutu benchmark of exynos 990 is 470k
New exynos have 750k-800k score that huge upgrade man

I think if you have read all the comments, most of the negatives are coming from samsung users, I've used the s8 and will not be coming back anytime soon.(not that its expensive, but there a whole lot of better phones within its price range) cmon, are you the only one,not able to see that its just a refurbished s20 with a diffrent soc ?

That happens to every brand. They all start with lower prices & end up like Samsung/Apple.
The good thing is that new brands keep popping up to offer good value products.
For now though, OnePlus's flagships are one of the better ones in the market for sure.

They're the only brand offering 4K displays on their flagsh... moreRead the second part, when I said when they actually put some good features in their phones they ask for extra money (that one was for Sony in particular). The Sony Xperia 1 II cost around 1200EUR where I live. No matter how good features it brings, it still not worth that price tag. As comparison the One Plus 8 Pro cost in here around 900EUR and it's better than the Xperia 1 II in every category.
When you have better alternatives at lower prices why would anyone go for that extra price tag of Sony phones? Just for the brand name? No thanks. And the talk about quality of components inside Sony phones is no longer valid nowadays. That's just what the fanboys will put forward to explain their higher purchase price. When in reality is just extra price for profit. Nowadays all flagship phones have good quality components inside. The difference is made only by brand name.

They're the only brand offering 4K displays on their flagships. They're one of the few remaining brands offering 3.5mm jack & SD slot on their flagships.
It's unfair to put Sony in the same category as Samsung, especially after the downgraded products Samsung is about to launch this year.

Samsung and Sony are just the Apple of Android world. They are just trying to cut features from their phones each and there, to have better profits. And when they actually give some good features in the phone, they charge extra money, on the basis of their brand name.
No wonder Samsung phones loose the biggest value in the shortest amount of time, from all Android phones.

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2021Compare S21+ with, let's say, 5 years old S7 Edge. Lower screen resolution, no 3.5mm jack... moreWell for me most important things are camera, battery life and screen. I dont care about 3.5 jack or memory card. 128gb is plenty. You can always remove extra unused files unless people like to have terabytes of music onboard. You can stream music. If people upgrade phone they can upgrade headphones to bt or get adapter. These are not problems. These are people with different habits and expectations.
