I was turned off by Samsung after they short changed me and purposely rendered my last Galaxy S useless. An official reviewer pointed out the trickster that Samsung is after pointing out how they shortchanged his personal Samsung smartphone and I took his words with a grain of salt UNTIL Samsung did me the same thing. I decided to avoid Samsung after that.

If I was to even give them a chance again that idea has gone out the window with their upcoming offerings.

1. First and foremost NO CHARGER. Chargers do stop working eventually so this talk about people having chargers lying around is not good enough.

2. No memory card slot. Memory expansion is a good thing to have especially with 4K and 8K becoming more popular these days.

3. No headset. Call me old fashioned but a wired headset is a convenient accessory to have. As a matter of fact a wired and wireless headset should be included in these so called FLAGSHIP packaging.

I could go on and on about limitations but I will stop right there.

People use to complain about Apple indulging in corporate greed but Samsung is doing the same thing now.

Me casually rocking a LG and seeing this article... I can not stop laughing now xddd. Now let's get serious. I had a s2 back then. It was a awful experience for me, so i flashed cyanogenmod to have a better experience. After 4 years I changed to Lg g5 and i currently use this phone. In 2020 I had an iphone 11 wich was good, but doesn't compare with g5. I can change batteries and it's all good. After iphone 12 relase without a chargher I had a feeling everyone will copy the trend. First Xiaomi and now Samsung. Why was I laughing? Well I know that sony and lg will never adopt this kind of trend, so I'm still stick with them.

DaFink, 12 Jan 2021I the love the reaction the no charger thing is getting, what did this take you all by surpris... moreThat will also depend of the laws of where the phones are sold. Like where the places you must include the earbuds. Not sure what the European Commission will do about this trend.

But the issue of forcing companies to mount removable batteries in phones is still active, only on hiatus due to current circumstances. Precisely to better manage their recycling and that it is the user, as in the past, who takes them to the nearest authorized place as is done with alkaline batteries, etc., and their control is centralized at European level.

The excuse of protection against water is not valid because you can have such protection with removable batteries. And the cost either because, in the past, mobile phones with protection and removable batteries were already sold at a much lower price than the current ones. It is one of the useful things that I am hoping to return and less financially bleed to consumers.

At this stage, as has been mentioned, they will sell you the phones with limited use to the payment of monthly fees if you give them the option or freedom to do so. Luckily we have organizations that protect the interest of consumers, at least in developed countries, and I hope they will put limits on the abusive practices that some companies practice, worth the redundancy.

It was painfully obvious that the moment Apple set this precedent, that the rest of the industry would be practically falling over themselves to follow suit.

Samsung won’t be the last to do this, in fact by the end this year we’ll likely be discussing the last remaining hold out, and how much longer they will indeed be willing to do so

                                  So let's see:
                                  - no charger
                                  - fake zoom marketed, like on the cheap phone from 5 years ago
                                  - splash resistant - does this mean no longer IP68?
                                  - no microSD
                                  - 20% more expensive

I think they test us how dumb we are to buy into such a downgrade.

Well lets see the release and the real thing. Maybe from a technical side you can call them a "dual zoom lens system". But if only one of the lens or both have a optical zoom and is only 1.1x that is too much. I wonder if in a court that could be accepted, it'll depend of the type of advertisements Samsung use. But that zoom in one or both "lens" is useless. Is basically a legal trick for marketing purpose. And a customer will probably think that you are selling them a good telephoto lens in those cameras, but if confirmed it would be false and almost all digital and done by the sensor matrix and software. Call them zoom hybrid cameras, or zoom system, but zoom lens? where are those zoom lens? 1.1x single one? Is that acceptable? Sure that their lawyers already studied it... another history will be if that is acceptable or admissible.

Anyways i hope that the not biased media, comments and forums open the eyes of the potential buyers of these phones about the reality once they are released.
