imparanoic, 13 Jan 2021considering how expensive Snapdragon 888 or even 865 is, more competition is good for consumer... moreexactly, but I dont see any companies beside Xiaomi, Realme, Honor and other chinese companies that will fully utilize this Soc, its quite sad that most of them will not be able to reach outside Asia, just like K30 ultra and X7 pro, that uses dimensity 1000.. and those phones are just below 400 usd.

I've seen you complaining about Google HDR as well, blindly saying they produce fake looking images at night which is not the case.
As this anonymous guy said, that must be the results of gcam on your Xperia

considering how expensive Snapdragon 888 or even 865 is, more competition is good for consumers, if the create a cost effective system on a chip then we will see inexpensive flagship like phone which is probably closer to US$600-700 than closer to US$1000 which is usually on snapdragon 865 and forthcoming 888, then every one wins.

Anonymous, 13 Jan 2021I know you're entitled to your own opinion, but putting A14 and Kirin 9000 in Tier 2 is j... moreA14 is tier 2 accept it.

Base on phonearena gaming battery test its only last 3hours while other soc have 8hour+ gaming.
And check youtube a14 throttle after 5minutes of gaming thats ridiculous

Not only trottling at heating king check the connectivity 😂 even xiaomi mocking their internet speed lol https://m.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_demos_its_wifi_6e_ax6000_router_by_pitting_the_xiaomi_mi_11_against_the_iphone_12_pro_max-news-46996.php

AljeanT, 12 Jan 2021But can it compete against Kirin 9000, SD 888 and/or Exynos 2100?Mediatek is for value (cheaper solution). For example last year Dimensity 1000 and 1000+ is quite fast for everyday task. As we have known that almost new phone using SD865 last year are expensive (we are not talking about Xiaomi's pricing because they put ads on their MIUI for their revenue).

The problem of Dimensity is not many phone using it (last year). Especially 1000 and 1000+. I'm glad using that chipset because I don't have much money to buy the expensive Snapdragon flagship phones.

i0S...Never...Again, 12 Jan 2021Nope. Hierarchy of flagship CPUs currently available can be broken down as below: Tier 1 F... moreA14 Bionic is more like below Tier 2. Powerful on paper like only Geekbench which pretty much serves to feed their tiny egos, but pretty much overheats and thermal throttles like a CPU without a heatsink and is wimpy in real life performance compared to REAL flagship SoCs like the SD 865. Lol.

Ghosting (can be solved turning off hdr).

Brought to you by Pixel. Very nice.

You are jealous because your phone does not even choose where to focus.

This is what we know so far. Not sure about display and video rendering yet. Don't knock it yet.

Be happy we're getting nearly flagship level performance that's nearly half the cost of Snapdragon 888 devices.

Manual mode is available on every phone.
Xperia manual mode is nothing but marketing on Paper.

Gcam is only available on phones which are mostly popular. No one buys the Xperia 1 II. Hence, it isn't available.

they just want a good phone for the money that will last 3-5 years not giving a damn about android updates.

AljeanT, 12 Jan 2021But can it compete against Kirin 9000, SD 888 and/or Exynos 2100?Nope. Hierarchy of flagship CPUs currently available can be broken down as below:

Tier 1 Flagship CPU:

Exynos 2100.
Snapdragon 888.

Tier 2 Flagship CPU:

Kirin 9000.
Exynos 1080.
Bionic A14.

This Dimensity 1200 most likely would be in Tier 2 or below.
