AljeanT, 12 Jan 2021But can it compete against Kirin 9000, SD 888 and/or Exynos 2100?Nope. Hierarchy of flagship CPUs currently available can be broken down as below:

Tier 1 Flagship CPU:

Exynos 2100.
Snapdragon 888.

Tier 2 Flagship CPU:

Kirin 9000.
Exynos 1080.
Bionic A14.

This Dimensity 1200 most likely would be in Tier 2 or below.

Android Authority, 12 Jan 2021They'll match the Kirin 9000 and Exynos 1080. The premium mid range needs competition. And the price will be much lower too.

        Go Mediatek, go!
About frickin time we got better chipsets for a lower price.
Qualcomm needs to step up big time or they might go down even further.

Good. Competition is always good. The the immensity 1000 version of the LG velvet apparently performs better than the 765g one

I really think that we need to take Mediatek very very seriously now... 6nm to me is almost on par with 5nm... And I would gladly choose a dimensity 1200... Over an A14 any day.

Awesome... Wow... Mediatek closing in on the 888.... That gap is getting smaller...

Would love a red magic 6S with either a dimensity 1200+ or 888+

This is indeed the 6nm one that Slightly edges out the 865
